Goal Differential, Round of 16 Kiki

Even though Juju tried to hate on me, I didn’t forget you.  (<3 you Juju)  I have been in World Cup mania at work.  It’s actually kind of fun but at the same time everything is a blur.  I am so excited to have today off.  I don’t get to relax or anything.  I’m basically using this day to do all the things that I haven’t gotten to do in the past week.  Did you see that Italy match yesterday?  Awesome.  Buh bye Italy!  I’m so excited to get into some more good football watching.  This weekend’s games are going to be wicked too.  Meh I sound like a nerd.  Lets move on to some dnb.

My buddy Stunna is having a show this weekend.  You can see me, Grand Marquee, Alfonz De La Mota, Midway and Place 42 play at an all dnb gig this saturday June 26.  Yes I repeat Chicago another all dnb gig.  I know these are so few and far between that we’ve forgotten what they are but I’m so excited to hang out with my friends, play some music and listen to some dnb.  I miss that so much.  If you’re in Chi please come and hang out with us.  It’s going to be lovely. :)

I’ve been listening to some awesome mixes at the gym and on my walks to work.  Thank god for Bassdrive.  I don’t have as much time to search for new mixes so I just download an archive and I’m good to go.  Lots of good tunes out as usual.  I’ve been hearing some pretty wicked darker/rowdier ones that I’ve been digging…  Yes you heard correctly,  Liquid Funk Kiki is digging more and more rowdy tunes. *shrugs*  What can I say, I’m not laying around my flat pondering my life as much anymore so a rowdy tune here and there while on the go definitely gets me excited.  ;)

I hope I get a chance to write again soon but I can’t guarantee it.  I have a long stretch coming up with no days off again for a minute.  We’ll see.

Disoriented Kiki

Everything’s a blur these days.  I thought it was the 17th all day yesterday and then realised I was 3 days behind.  I’m super busy but it’s a good busy.  I had no transition.  I went from not working for a year to working 5 days a week.  I’m very much relishing in my days off and attempting to catch up on sleep.

530am Kiki

The days of the USA games I have to go in at 530am.  I know that I wake up at the crack of dawn anyways but I don’t ever really do anything too exciting at those times.  I go to the gym or watch tv.  Having to work that early in the morning is not really that cool.  The USA games are fun though and it’s good money so I’ll grin and bear it. :)

Service Industry Kiki

One thing I love about the service industry is the difference in start times.  It’s nice to not always have to be at work at 8 or 9am.  Today I don’t have to work til 12 so I’m enjoying the morning to do odds and ends.

Football Hooligans Kiki

So working the World Cup at Smallbar is a blast.  Tiring but definitely a blast.  I’ve just kinda been holed up there for the past couple of days so I really haven’t had time to write.  Today is my day off and then I head back again tomorrow.  The shifts are long shifts but enjoyable.  The USA v. England game was pure insanity. Loved it.

Blackhawks Kiki

So the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup and I got pretty much no sleep last night.  I live on a busy main street and all I could hear were fireworks and people screaming all night.  Is it normal for people to let off fireworks all the time when something big happens or does that only happen in Chicago??  Anyways congrats to the Blackhawks.

World Cup time is finally here.  Starting tomorrow I will be a fixture at Smallbar Division for pretty much all the games.  If you’re in Chi, come watch a game or two and have a beer. :)

Studious Kiki

It feels so much better when one is busy.  Good busy.

In my past year of unemployment, that is what has caused me the most depression.  It’s just not fun to feel useless.

I have Joia again today.  Her dad will be back this weekend I think.

My biggest problem right now is that one of the programs I’m applying to requires a writing sample, like a research paper of sorts…  Hmmm.  Nope.  My programs that I studied second time around at school were very creative:  screenwriting, sitcom writing, sketch comedy writing, public relations marketing plans and the like.  None of that will work for a writing sample and I’m completely screwed.  LOL.  I did have one paper that I wrote for a psychology class and recently threw it out with numerous other piles of crap as I was trying to figure out why I had papers that I had written in primary school in London still in my room.  I just purged numerous nonsense piles of rubbish that were creating mayhem in my cabinet.

Anyways, now I have to  spend this week writing some semblance of a writing sample to turn in.  Wish me luck.  This is something I am horibble at.  Hence the reason I went the creative angle in my studies.  I remember when I was in high school my teachers always complaining that I was not allowed to write how I spoke.  That is the only way I know how to write!!  LOL.  APA style was definitely not my friend.  This paper will be very interesting. ;)
