So World Cup is over and now I can move on to the rest of my summer.  Pitchfork is this weekend and my friend Andy’s band Why? is playing on saturday so I’m gonna go.  Woot.  Chicago summers are awesome.

Championship Kiki

So World Cup final is this weekend.  I go back to my regular life of being unemployed and just working at Smallbar once a week.  I’m kinda happy for it to be over.  I’m ready to move on to new adventures in my life.

Did I tell you I was going back to school?  I don’t remember.  I try and limit the stuff I write here cuz I know not everybody is that interested in my life.  LOL.  I used to have another blog many years ago on Livejournal and after 8 years of writing in it I decided that there was way too much information about my deep thoughts that people could care less about so I created this dnb one where I write mini paragraphs instead of pages upon pages about my inner dialogue.

Anyways I’m going back to school.  I’m applying for January semester.  I guess I need to use this time to find another job so I can afford my life while in school.  I’m okay with looking for more bar jobs cuz they are easy jobs to have while being a student.  Now that I have a new focus, the salaried/benefit job isn’t necessarily my main goal anymore, school is.   So I have no qualms about going back to service industry for 2 years until I finish my program and then take it from there.  Woot.

I just loaded new mixes on my ipod and haven’t listened to them yet so I don’t really have any new tunes for you.  Look on the bright side though, next week I’ll be back to writing every day since World Cup will be over. :)

I’m djing at an art show that my friend Allie is putting on with her friends.  I’ll be mixing an hour of UK Garage and an hour of dnb.  If you’re in Chi come check it out.

Wobble Kiki

Last night was awesome.  I went to go see Caspa at Smart Bar.  I can’t believe how many times I’ve been to Smart Bar this month.  It’s usually a place I don’t go to too often cuz I hate driving there and I’m not really on the electronic club tip that much these days .  I’ve seen some great shows there the past month though.  Caspa was def. my favourite one.  It’s so lovely when the room is just filled with enthusiastic people who are just as excited about the music as you are.  Last night was really packed.  Whoa-B and Timid had awesome sets.  Caspa murdered it.  The crowd just ate him up.  They knew all his tracks,  freaked out at the right times, danced a ton and even sang back lyrics really loudly?  I know.  I was in awe too.  LOL.  Made for a really great night.  I didn’t even feel like I was in Chicago cuz it seemed like there was, dare I say, a healthy scene that wasn’t just house music.  I had a blast. :)

The record organising continues.  Thankfully I can say that I do actually see an end in sight soon.  Yay.

So Chicago only comes out for big names I guess.  Andy C was packed last night and everyone was acting like they rave out to dnb on a regular basis.  It was very interesting to watch.  There was definitely a lot of rowdiness in the place.  Stunna killed it. :)

Going to see Skream tonight.  I like going to big dubstep shows.  They are fun.  I don’t necessary like going to Smart Bar for 2 days in a row but what’s a girl to do?

Relax Kiki Relax

I think it’s funny to tell people to relax.  My old coworker Mallory used to do it all the time.

I had a last second mix outing yesterday.  My friend Caleb was mixing at People’s Lounge and asked if I wanted to join him cuz they were short a dj.  I obliged.  It was nice and chill.  Good times.

YES!  It’s finally friday.  I’ve been working my ass off this week and will gladly take this weekend to kick it.  It’s supposed to be really nice out and Do Division is this weekend too, so I’m expecting to do nothing but to hang outside, lounge and eat.  Woot.
