Got to hang out with Stunna and Calculon yesterday. Stunna was in town to play Respect. It was so nice to hang with some of my o.g. dnb people.
My dnb crew in LA consists of me, me, and me. If I do go to shows, I just go by myself. It was nice when Pipleline still lived here, cuz he was always down to venture out.
I don’t mind too much. I’m okay with my own company. I like mixing at home by myself and living in my own dnb world. But, I do also love the opportunity to just hang with others and chat about tunes I love or just sit around and listen to tracks. I miss my peoples big time whenever I’m in the mood to do just that.
Hey, I know I am at fault in this scenario. I don’t get that excited about going out and making new friends. I like my dnb people. I have 20+ years of history with my Minneapolis and Chicago crews. I’m an old lady raver. I don’t have the energy to put in the effort I used to at 20.
That being said, I did see Amy out. We were both at Locus in Tulum. She’s quite lovely, has nice friends and also lives in my neighbourhood. We’re supposed to hang. 🥰

My turntables are next to the washer and dryer, so sometimes, if I’m in the mood, I’ll mix records while I do laundry.
I love all my old records. I have so many good tracks.
I don’t have any way to record my mixes any more, so the best I could do was write down the tracklist as I mixed and create a YouTube playlist of the mix, if you want to listen.
Of course it would be way better mixed instead of stand alone videos, but the selection was still dope, even if I do say so myself. 😂

2024. 🥰 2023 was … I don’t really have the words. It wasn’t good. It wasn’t bad. It was just there.
I had a lovely holiday season. I spent a lot of time with my family and I really enjoyed it. I’m ready to start my new year with purpose and excited for whatever is to come.

Super duper late, but anyway, yes, I went to the TNQ night at Amsterdam Dance Event last month. I had so much fun! It was great to see Greg, and Flight was there as well. I hadn’t seen her in ages. It was nice to catch up. Me and my old lady raver bones lasted the whole night! Great sets all around.
I was in London to wrap up the last of my dad’s estate situation. It was nice to get a mini break from the sadness and go rave and hang out with friends and listen to great tunes. 🥰
Also got to check out Kool FM while I was in London. Me and Kathy went to keep Alicia company during her show. As a long time jungle raver, getting to go hang at Kool FM was pretty dope. Alicia had a great set as always and I kept say to the ladies how fun it was just to sit in a room, hang out with friends and listening to dnb really loudly. I mean I do that on my own all the time, but it was nice to do it with my friends. 😊
I love having the Kool FM/Rinse FM app. I listen to great mixes constantly. Not sharing a mix today, but I am currently obsessed with these 2 tunes and have had them on repeat for like 4 days. I had definitely heard both of them before on some other mixes, but didn’t know who they were by. I hyper-fixate like nobody’s business. I’ll write down which mix I heard a tune on and the minute count so I can keep going back to trainspot it until I know who it’s by. 😂

Back in LA. I’ve gone on a non-stop listening spree of all the old mixes I found at my mum’s. I completely forgot about this gem. The original was already great, but my oh my this Marky & Bungle remix. I listened to like 3 mixes on the flight back and I can’t believe I forgot about this tune because I clearly played it to death back then. It was on all 3 of those mixes. 😂 That Marky and Bungle era was elite I tell you!
