I’m hanging in there…. barely. Very much looking forward to Thanksgiving so I can have a break.
Received some bad news about my father’s estate. Can’t believe we’re coming up on 2 years and this person is still causing all this trouble. I can’t even imagine what it will be like when I get to grieve my dad properly.
I am happy I am going to Sierra Leone for Christmas. I know we say our loved ones are always with us, and I do believe he is, to some extent. I just feel like his energy will be stronger in his resting place. That’s his home. I have a hard time with him not being buried in a place I can go visit regularly.
It’s crazy that there’s only 6 more until the end of the year. 😐
Lenzman and Submorphics played this Calibre on the most recent Echobox Radio show and I forgot how much I love this tune. Gonna have to put it in rotation for a bit. 🥰

Summer is just speeding on. I saw Lenzman a couple of weeks ago and it was so so dope. I love being able to go out and see dnb again. I had such a good time.
I was listening to Calibre’s remix of Klute’s Now, Always, Forever on the walk home from the bar, and man, that Calibre era had such a chokehold on me. Such a great remix.
My school moved, so I’ve been busy with that. Still kicking it. Still missing my dad. Still slaving over grad school homework. Still listening to a ridiculous amount of dnb. 😊

It’s funny to me that I used to mix super duper noisy, rowdy, party drum n bass in my younger years. While I was at my mum’s I found all these old mixtapes of tag team sessions with me and my crew and they were so live and fun!
At 45, my knees and ears are def not in the mood for that type of dnb, but it was really enjoyable to take a trip down memory lane. (my mum still has a stereo with a tape deck, so I listened to the tapes).
It’s been liquid all day ‘erry day for me since about 2003. But I had a good 8 or 9 years where I was only about jump up, ragga jungle, and whatever you want to call the different genres that came out over those years that made me want to hug the speaker the most. 😊
I still like to go out and listen to dnb when I can. I do have the odd dance here and there. That Phonox event that Greg played at back in November, I danced for like 4 hours straight! Most of the time though I’m looking for a pleasant soundtrack for my day-to-day activities. As long as they are “Senior-citizen/pensioner” friendly. LOL. Really just mostly want background music as I lesson plan, clean, work out and drive for long periods of time.
I’m probs late to the game, but I just subscribed to this YouTube channel and it’s bringing me so much joy as I lesson plan for the week. 😍
I’ve been house/dog sitting for a friend for the past 9 days. Today was a nice relaxing day with the dog. I’m just sitting here lesson planning and vibin. I could chill to Calibre all day. 🥰
In my old age, I’m totes ready for those days where I retreat to my “winter home” in some sunny paradise.
I don’t mind autumn, it’s actually my favourite season, but sometimes the grey skies creep up on you and will def have you in your feelings a little bit.
Instead of being a mopey cow for no sensible reason, I’m mixing old tunes and feeling quite content. What else is new? I don’t own any new records. LOL.
I do actually listen to new stuff every once in a while. I just happen to really, really, really enjoy my old records. 😍😍😍

Exams are over. Nothing more to grade. I’m still not really sure what exactly the kids do til next Wednesday when school officially finishes. All I know is it has nothing to do with me. I’ll just be sitting in my aforementioned hot ass office, waiting for August 3rd when I blow this popsicle stand.
I said goodbye to my students and it was waterworks central. smh. I’m such a crybaby. LOL. I still have a farewell English department dinner and have to give a speech at the closing ceremony next week. I’ll be too busy memorising my Japanese to actually cry then.

After I posted that Logistics tune, I realised that I never said anything about the Polyphony album even though I’ve been listening to it non-stop for the past couple of months. September was a super busy month for me so I’ve been busy living in dnb lala land and just listening to tunes and doing work.
Anyways, I love it, the album I mean. Some really good tunes on there. I started out just buying a couple of tunes and ended up buying pretty much the whole thing.
When Now More Than Ever came out, I caned that thing to death and still listen to a lot of tunes off that album regularly. I get super obsessed with an artist and play them until I get sick of them. Some of them I don’t seem to get sick of (see Calibre, Lenzman etc … the artists that you are probably sick of me posting mixes of.) and others I have a minor falling out with and sometimes revisit.
I haven’t listened to Logistics for a super long time. Lemme rephrase that, I haven’t listened to new Logistics stuff in a super longtime. I’ll play Together or The Great Drum & Bass Swindle (Life is Beautiful) remix or anything from back in the day like it came out yesterday.
I don’t think I actually have a fave on the album cuz I seem to like most of the songs equally but here’s No Hurry Time anyway. 🙂
