Calculon, Shamanga & Austin Speed
I woke up at 4am today and watched The Following and then had my usual conversation with my homie Shannon about stabbing, clown-faced murderers, killing people with a blowtorch (all The Following storylines btw) and then went for a run.
Seeing as started my morning in such a sinister manner, and it was still dark outside, I figured some dirty, moody rollers would be the way to go for my morning run soundtrack.
I listened to a Spectrasoul mix that I downloaded last month. I don’t think I posted it. I download new mixes pretty much everyday and eventually get around to listening to them. This mix was kind of a showcase of all their tunes. The highlight was that they started out their set with “Dark Hour” which is always a win in my book. The mix wasn’t that long so I added a couple of tunes from my itunes library to make it an hour.
Some highlights.
My brother is letting me take his car to Madison. They don’t want to leave it sitting at their house all week as they too have gone away. Not only did he give me gas money but he also has an I-Pass. Talk about win. 🙂
Usually it’s just me and my mum for Thanksgiving but this time we have 9 other people joining us. I come from a big family so I’m always down for big family style dos.
I plan on kickin it hard this week. Not because I’ve been doing anything overly strenuous but merely because I feel like it. Staycations are kinda where it’s at for me these days. 😉

I really blame unemployment for making me become a person that is always running behind schedule. I used to be the one that was always annoying early for things. Now after a year of never having to be anywhere on time, I’ve becoming a person who is always trying to catch up. Boo.

So… I have found out that my unemployment will not be renewed when it runs out next month. It’s crazy to just have zero dollars coming in. I cannot afford to live here when that happens so I will be returning to Madison to live with my mum. I’m trying to be optimistic. I would much rather not go. I have til May 10th and then I will be going back to Wisconsin. I guess keep your fingers crossed for me that I find a job before then. Living in Madison will crush my spirit so I’m definitely not looking forward to it. Yikes, talk about depressing post right? 😉

Lately it doesn’t seem that strange that I’m up and at ’em at the crack of dawn cuz I just wake up and get ready to go to the gym. Today I have to take Joia to school to help Jessica out so instead I am lying in bed typing this post as Joia watches Sponge Bob. Hanging out with a kid at 630 in the morning is actually right up my alley cuz I can never seem to find anyone who actually wants to have conversations with me this early in the morning but Joia definitely has a lot to say. LOL.
I’ve been listening to a lot of mixes lately. There’s some really good ones floating around. I’m really digging the Faironne, the new Random Movement Podcast and I’m still listening to the Quantrek. There’s a bunch of others too but it’s just silly to list them all.
In other news, I’m in vinyl hell. One way I’ve been combating the unemployment blues is I’ve developed a sort of schedule. I just make sure I incorporate a bunch of stuff in my day to help time go by faster. I don’t want to be a lazy loser just lying on the couch watching telly. It’s not really a time schedule, it’s more of a “at some point during the day do this” schedule. One of those things is mix for an hour or however long I decide. This task has become harder and harder as my records are in complete disarray. My records used to be organised. I took an extended amount of time many years ago and came up with a pretty awesome system. Back then I had an abundance of crates and just sorted them out that way. Then I got this lovely record shelf from one of my friends and I was so excited the day I got it that I just started pulling shit randomly from crates and putting them on the shelf. Now the shelf just serves as a purpose to “put records away.” They are in no particular order and it sucks. I can’t find a bloody thing. I started organising them yesterday. *sigh* It is going to take forever. Boo. 😦

YES! It’s finally friday. I’ve been working my ass off this week and will gladly take this weekend to kick it. It’s supposed to be really nice out and Do Division is this weekend too, so I’m expecting to do nothing but to hang outside, lounge and eat. Woot.
