Sometimes I have irrational anger towards bad remixes. 😂 I didn’t make it so there’s no reason to get so angry. SMH.
I just feel like if you are going to take the time to remix something, do it well! Do the original justice while also giving us a new take.
Anyway, SATL bringing the goods on this refix sparked joy on the elliptical this morning.
Man, I used to stan so hard for BCee and Spearhead. Â I’m sure they still do a ton of stuff but since I’m rubbish at keeping up with the ins and outs of the dnb industry, I really have no clue what they’ve been up to. Â I’m happy to see this mix.
Here’s a good old Spearhead flashback. Â Not really a big Netsky fan but I’ve always liked this tune.
Currently listening to this gem as I try my best to avoid the urge to nap on the couch in my office. Â No classes to teach til April when the new school year starts. Â Must be productive!

I’m in LA right now. Came to support my good friend George for his art opening and visit with one of my dearest and most treasured buddies Mollie. They are both Minneapolis transplants and the best part is that some of my other Minneapolis besties came too, so it’s a fun group mini holiday. I only wish the weather was a bit better. It’s at least sunny though and that’s good.
I’m being very blogger like and blogging from a trendy breakfast place with free wifi off of Sunset Blvd. 🙂

I’ve caught up on so many mixes lately and there are some really wicked tracks floating around. I know it was a while ago but dang that Seba NLDNB Podcast 2 is fire. I love every track on there. I also happen to love Seba so it’s a win/win situation. I could go on and list all the mixes I’ve been listening to but I’ll spare you. Just because I’m catching up on a month’s worth of mixes doesn’t mean you have to as well.

So the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup and I got pretty much no sleep last night. Â I live on a busy main street and all I could hear were fireworks and people screaming all night. Â Is it normal for people to let off fireworks all the time when something big happens or does that only happen in Chicago?? Â Anyways congrats to the Blackhawks.
World Cup time is finally here.  Starting tomorrow I will be a fixture at Smallbar Division for pretty much all the games.  If you’re in Chi, come watch a game or two and have a beer. 🙂

I’m making an executive decision and doing my end of year top tracks today. I’m going to Philly today and then I’m not taking my laptop with me to NY tomorrow so that really leaves me no time to write.

My list is always going to be kinda bogus. LOL. The tunes I blogged about towards the end of the year are still fresh in my mind and therefore get more attention than the ones I blogged about back in the beginning of the year cuz I’m not sick of hearing them yet. The list is in no particular order. I have been told that I have strange taste in some dnb track so my list means absolutely nothing. It’s just a compilation of songs that I personally liked over 2009. We also must take into account that the latter half of the year I wasn’t as diligent about writing tracks down due to the loss of my job so I’m not as up on new tunes as I used to be. This list is just of tracks that I would have been happy to keep on my ipod for the past 365 days.

Happy New Year!
It’s my birthday week. I’m not doing a party this year as I have the past 3 years so instead I’m just milking the whole week and going out of my way to do fun things. My friend Andy just called and said one of the bands he plays with Why? is coming into town and playing Bottom Lounge tonight so now my week is starting out awesome and goes all the way through to my bday on saturday. Woot.
I had a pretty lowkey weekend. Lots of lounging and hanging out action. I did finish organising my records though which is awesome. I just have some last minute divider/labeling stuff to do and then I’ll be one happy camper.
