Boo. Summer is over. Fall semester starts tomorrow. Not having a proper summer holiday made these past 3 months just speed by!
Fall is my favourite season. I didn’t get a summer holiday, but I do have 2 weddings coming up. I will be travelling for them and they are the weddings of 2 of my favourite people, so that should be fun.

I’m 45 and still constantly surprised by how fast time flies. You would think I’d be used to it by now.
August starts on Monday. My dad’s birthday is on the 8th. It’s already been a year and 8 months since he passed. I think about him daily. There are still so many annoyances affecting the closure of his estate, which sucks, but I’ve unlocked a new level of processing those feelings with the help of therapy, so that’s good. Having him buried in another country is difficult for me. I would like to be able to visit him whenever I want, so I’m very much looking forward to going to Sierra Leone this December and getting to do that.
This summer has just been busy. Loads of work ish and summer semester of grad school. I’m finishing up my 3rd semester of a 5 semester program. I’m enjoying it. It’s definitely a different experience when it’s your 2nd master’s.

Weekend mood:
Summer is just speeding on. I saw Lenzman a couple of weeks ago and it was so so dope. I love being able to go out and see dnb again. I had such a good time.
I was listening to Calibre’s remix of Klute’s Now, Always, Forever on the walk home from the bar, and man, that Calibre era had such a chokehold on me. Such a great remix.
My school moved, so I’ve been busy with that. Still kicking it. Still missing my dad. Still slaving over grad school homework. Still listening to a ridiculous amount of dnb. 😊

I survived my second semester of grad school. This second go is a little more difficult as I’m working in my career, and the last time I was just working in a bar. I am enjoying it though.
Still dealing with issues from beneficiaries and my father’s estate. It’s been a year and a half since he passed. I really will be happy when it’s over and I can just grieve and memorialize him in peace.

Greg played at RESPECT yesterday. Great set as always. We were laughing because funnily enough I’ve probably seen him more than I’ve seen most of my friends, due to pandemic isolation of course. He’s been back to California a couple of times, and we saw each other when I was in London too. Always a pleasure.
It was nice to go hear some good dnb. I love the sound in Station 1640. It really makes going to go listen to dnb a delightful experience.

Chin Chin to 14 years! This is a blog I try to delete regularly, but it continues to be a much needed gift of catharsis for my poor addled brain.
I went to bed at 8:15 pm on a Friday night. Looks like AARP will have a new member sooner than later. 😂
Now it’s 3:12 am and I’m up and wide awake, doing my homework and listening to tunes.
I already listened to the new Zero T album and now I’ve moved on to a little Artificial Intelligence.
Fingers crossed I fall back asleep easily.
My life is def chaotic at the moment. I’m somewhat content though, so it’s not as stressful as it could be.
This semester will be done in a couple of weeks. My program requires that I do a summer semester, but I’ll still get a two week break, which I’m very much looking forward to.
Shows are back in full force! The Xcellerated lineup this weekend tho… 😮
