Life has been lifing, and continues to life. 😩 Sorry I’ve been M.I.A.
While I was gone, I missed my blog anniversary.
Happy belated to me. 18 years. 🕯️🎂🕯️
I also went back to Minneapolis and had a JVC crew reunion which was very fun!
30 year reunion is mad! My old bones did not miss the partying til 6am, but I can definitely say I didn’t realise how much I did miss playing on a big sound system.
It sounded so good!
Summer Solstice ran through on Sunday. I swear this year is just speeding by. I don’t have heaps of activities that I’m looking forward to this summer. That’s not a bad thing. I’m just going to chill.
My fall is gonna be lovely though. I turn 50 this year and am going on a friend group trip to Valencia, Spain, which I am really looking forward to.
That does mean I will not be going to Sun and Bass this year though. I’ve had an Alley Cat gal pals dnb trip every year for the past 3 years, so I def will miss bopping around with her this year. But I am passing through London, so I’ll get some dnb ladies hang time in then. 😍
I haven’t been listening to a lot of mixes lately. I’ve been a bit mopey and in my head with all the wahala that’s been taking place in my life, so I’ve legit just been listening to my own mixes that I make. 🤭
Here are a few gems I’ve been digging:
I’m Gen X, if you put any 90’s R&B sample in a dnb tune, I will eat it up. This Brookes Brothers & Danny Byrd with the Tamia sample is a vibe.
I have been waiting forever for this En:vy tune to come out. So glad it finally got released.
This Kasra and Waeys tune goes so hard! Fun to mix too. 💕
I dig all the vocals on this one. Lovely tune.
