2023 was … I don’t really have the words. It wasn’t good. It wasn’t bad. It was just there.
I had a lovely holiday season. I spent a lot of time with my family and I really enjoyed it. I’m ready to start my new year with purpose and excited for whatever is to come.

Super duper late, but anyway, yes, I went to the TNQ night at Amsterdam Dance Event last month.
I had so much fun! It was great to see Greg, and Flight was there as well. I hadn’t seen her in ages. It was nice to catch up.
Me and my old lady raver bones lasted the whole night! Great sets all around.
I was in London to wrap up the last of my dad’s estate situation. It was nice to get a mini break from the sadness and go rave and hang out with friends and listen to great tunes. 🥰
Also got to check out Kool FM while I was in London. Me and Kathy went to keep Alicia company during her show. As a long time jungle raver, getting to go hang at Kool FM was pretty dope. Alicia had a great set as always and I kept say to the ladies how fun it was just to sit in a room, hang out with friends and listening to dnb really loudly. I mean I do that on my own all the time, but it was nice to do it with my friends. 😊
I love having the Kool FM/Rinse FM app. I listen to great mixes constantly. Not sharing a mix today, but I am currently obsessed with these 2 tunes and have had them on repeat for like 4 days. I had definitely heard both of them before on some other mixes, but didn’t know who they were by. I hyper-fixate like nobody’s business. I’ll write down which mix I heard a tune on and the minute count so I can keep going back to trainspot it until I know who it’s by. 😂

I’m going to Europe next week. I saw a TikTok about people complaining about Americans saying Europe instead of their specific destinations. I have multiple destinations on the continent, hence the catchall “Europe”. Anyway, mainly informing you to let you know that my ridiculous hamster wheel life will slow down and I will be back to writing long chatty entries. 😂

I listened to like 3 mixes on the flight back and I can’t believe I forgot about this tune because I clearly played it to death back then. It was on all 3 of those mixes. 😂

I missed my blog anniversary.
I was having a conversation with my students the other day about how weird it is to have a digital log of your life for extended periods of time. I started blogging in 2001. My first blog makes me cringe! I wrote in it every day and it was verbal diarrhea of an early 20s raver who was obsessed with jungle and couldn’t shut up. It’s still floating around in the internet ether. 😂 I am going to delete it, I am just downloading each entry first and making a mini book.
As cringy as it is, it’s still kinda cool to have my musings from back then. That’s why I don’t delete this one. In 2008, I was over my nonstop blabbing in my first blog, so I decided to start a new one. I vowed to only speak about dnb and keep the oversharing word vomit to a minimum. No more page long entries. Just a few sentences here and there and some good tunes. I have pretty much stuck to that. After my dad passed, I wanted to discuss grief and allowed myself to write a few longer posts.
For years, each blog anniversary arrived and I contemplated deleting. And then some lovely soul sends me a nice message about how much they appreciate my blog. 🥰🥰🥰
Anyway, I’m still here. I still listening to loads of dnb and I’m still rubbish at posting.
