Daylight savings starts tomorrow? You got somewhere to be 2024?
Bruh. Super duper excited for this show!! We all know my love for Toulousian dnb knows no end. Geeked for Halogenix too. Seeing him at Station 1640 was one of my favourite sets ever.
Been listening to this Styke mix. I really enjoyed his set when I was in Amsterdam for the TNQ night. 🥰

Got to hang out with Stunna and Calculon yesterday. Stunna was in town to play Respect. It was so nice to hang with some of my o.g. dnb people.
My dnb crew in LA consists of me, me, and me. If I do go to shows, I just go by myself. It was nice when Pipleline still lived here, cuz he was always down to venture out.
I don’t mind too much. I’m okay with my own company. I like mixing at home by myself and living in my own dnb world. But, I do also love the opportunity to just hang with others and chat about tunes I love or just sit around and listen to tracks. I miss my peoples big time whenever I’m in the mood to do just that.
Hey, I know I am at fault in this scenario. I don’t get that excited about going out and making new friends. I like my dnb people. I have 20+ years of history with my Minneapolis and Chicago crews. I’m an old lady raver. I don’t have the energy to put in the effort I used to at 20.
That being said, I did see Amy out. We were both at Locus in Tulum. She’s quite lovely, has nice friends and also lives in my neighbourhood. We’re supposed to hang. 🥰
Listening to some SirReal. I love me some SirReal. His mixes were the soundtrack to so much of my noughties. Always good vibes.

2024. 🥰 2023 was … I don’t really have the words. It wasn’t good. It wasn’t bad. It was just there.
I had a lovely holiday season. I spent a lot of time with my family and I really enjoyed it. I’m ready to start my new year with purpose and excited for whatever is to come.
Having a chill morning. I really enjoyed this mix with Emma G going b2b with Satl from November. Hope you guys have a great start to the year too.
I know, I know, I’ve been MIA. A lot going on these days. I’ll write an update soon. In the meantime I’m starting my morning with En:vy. I played this mix to death while I was finishing up my thesis. Such a good mix.
Hi! I’m alive. I graduated! 🥳🥳🥳 It was definitely touch and go there for a minute. That last month was brutal, but I’m officially a member of the 2 masters club.
I missed my blog anniversary.
I was having a conversation with my students the other day about how weird it is to have a digital log of your life for extended periods of time. I started blogging in 2001. My first blog makes me cringe! I wrote in it every day and it was verbal diarrhea of an early 20s raver who was obsessed with jungle and couldn’t shut up. It’s still floating around in the internet ether. 😂 I am going to delete it, I am just downloading each entry first and making a mini book.
As cringy as it is, it’s still kinda cool to have my musings from back then. That’s why I don’t delete this one. In 2008, I was over my nonstop blabbing in my first blog, so I decided to start a new one. I vowed to only speak about dnb and keep the oversharing word vomit to a minimum. No more page long entries. Just a few sentences here and there and some good tunes. I have pretty much stuck to that. After my dad passed, I wanted to discuss grief and allowed myself to write a few longer posts.
For years, each blog anniversary arrived and I contemplated deleting. And then some lovely soul sends me a nice message about how much they appreciate my blog. 🥰🥰🥰
Anyway, I’m still here. I still listening to loads of dnb and I’m still rubbish at posting.
Current playlist: I love listening to Sam Bank’s Bankbeats. He never disappoints. It’s always a great showcase of old and new. 💕

I teach at two different schools and their spring breaks are on different weeks. 😭 At least there’s a little reprieve during the two week span. This week I don’t have to teach in the evening, so that’s a plus.
Working on my lesson plan for my LACC students and Listening to The North Quarter on Echobox. Greg did a nice little Fats tribute collection.
I put this on the telly while working on a thesis chapter and spent the whole time peeking up from laptop wishing I could have been there. 😂 The vibe looks amazing and the tunes are dope.
