It’s so weird when it rains in LA. I mean I know there are songs about it never raining in Southern California, but still. ๐
It’s been ages. I write numerous drafts and never post them. Soz. The key is to just post and not faff about trying to curate the perfect post! So here I am, posting.
I’ve lived in LA for 7 years and it’s only this year I started hanging out with LA dnb people. Totally nothing wrong with that. It’s just funny to me that it took me this long.
I belonged to 2 wonderful dnb scenes that I am deeply fond of. My djing/raving years in Minneapolis and Chicago are such a treasure to me and the people that I befriended during that time are my nearest and dearest. I’m 47, don’t really go out that much anymore apart from the odd show here and there, and I am content with the friends that already exist in my life. I mix at home and have a 24 hour dnb playist in my headphones, so it’s really not all that surprising that I hadn’t made any new dnb friends, but… 7 years is a long time. ๐
Anyway, I’m enjoying the switch up. I’m used to living a solo LA dnb life and it’s nice to have some new people to share this 30 year obsession with.
Currently obsessed with this Emma G mix on TNQ’s Echobox Radio show. If you want to listen, it’s the last 30 minutes of this episode. Now we all know I never pass up a TNQ mix, but this one I’m posting solely for the Emma G guest mix. I’ve been listening to it on repeat for the past 4 days. Such a lovely mix with so many good tunes.๐
