LA was so rude this weekend! 🤣
We went from like 60 degrees on Monday to 96 on the weekend.
I just stayed inside, enjoying my rent and frigid temps.

I was recently telling a colleague about my Livejournal. Yikes! 🤣
I started blogging in 2001. I joined Livejournal and just yapped endlessly about everything.
I finally got so sick of myself and my cringy early 20s behaviour, that I ended that blog and created this one. At first I decided I wasn’t going to talk about myself and just post my fave mixes and tunes, but eventually, cuz I’m such a blabbermouth, parts of my life started to creep into my posts.
I still don’t update as much as I would like, but I have decided that I do like the fact that this platform exists for me after all these years. 💜

Happy New Year? I started this draft at the beginning of January when I got back from family hols, and then got taken out by the flu! I was so sick for 3 weeks and it was still January when I finally got better. What a long ass month!
Haven’t been to any dnb shows yet this year, but did get to go see my old Minneapolis homie DVS1 and he did not disappoint. I don’t really know that much about techno, but I always enjoyed Zak’s sets from our old Minneapolis raving days. Actually stayed out and raved til the wee hours of the morning. Who am I? 😂
Anyway, welcome to February. Should probs write heaps more and update with newer ish, but I’ve just decided to finish the draft and leave it at that.
I don’t mind saying that Baby Grey is deffo one of my top fave tracks. Every time it comes on in a mix, I get so geeked. It’s just a really great tune and I don’t ever get sick of it.
Come on, let’s keep it real. We all know how I feel about TNQ tunes. Loved this Minor Forms release.

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week.
I love getting to hang out with my family. I’m very much looking forward to a little r&r.
My work has been so busy. It’ll be nice to just laze around with the fam, watch TV and stuff my face.
This isn’t a long post. I really just wanted to write about Fox’s Woi to the World EP.
I thought I wrote about it already, but I didn’t and I’m obsessed.
I’ve had the tracks on repeat for the past 2 weeks.
Last week it was all about Revellin’ and this week I guess it’s all about ICU. I’ve listened to that track like 5 times today already. Great EP. 🔥🔥🔥

Weekend Vibes Kiki
Just got back from a week in Vegas for a work conference. Great conference, Vegas… meh.
I’ve never been before and everyone kept being like “That’s crazy that you’ve never been!” I don’t think it’s that crazy. I already knew it wasn’t my vibe. Everything that people do for fun there is so not my ministry as they say. No shade to anyone whose ministry it is. It’s just crazy expensive and the majority of activities are not what interests me, so I wouldn’t pay money to go there.
Also, I can’t believe we ever used to be able to smoke indoors. We stayed at the MGM Grand and it just smelled like stale smoke when there wasn’t actually smoke just wafting through the air.
Conference 10/10. Vegas 5/10. I ate at some amazing restaurants, that’s where the 5 points come from. 😂 The food was awesome. Looooved Nomad Library Restaurant.
I got back on Friday at like 10pm and scurried to go see GLXY at System Error. I didn’t stay for Halogenix. I am a Halogenix fan, but I’ve seen him heaps before and was knackered. I’m happy I went. Smashing set. So many good tunes. Fun times were had.
Back and just doing some life maintenance and listening to tunes. I think it was on The Amen Brother! podcast the other day someone brought up Bassbin Recordings, which immediately made me think of one of my fave Random Movement tunes “Stars in the Dark”. Love me some Random Movement.

Coasting Along Kiki
Been in LA for seven years and adjusting to LA’s version of the seasons changing still takes some getting used to. The temp has finally dropped and I’m happy to be getting out the jumpers, long sleeves and hoodies. Cozy is my middle name.
I’ve got a lot of work on, but lowkey that’s a spot I enjoy being in. It allows me to just pop in my headphones, zone out, and do my work with no interruptions and listen to whatever I want.
This week I’ve been catching up on The Amen, Brother! Podcast. Love having it on in the background. It’s nice to be able to watch them on YouTube and pretend you’re in the room with them.
I’ve also had the Tyrone TNQ Rinse FM episode on repeat. What a great mix! So many go0d tunes: Mortlock’s Emma’s Dilemma, Alix Perez’s Bloomsbury, Workforce’s Falling Down to name a few. The whole tracklist is just 🔥. I’ve been vibing to it for the past two weeks straight. 🥰

I finally had a super productive weekend. My house is clean. Laundry is done. I’m not behind on my work projects. Hallelujah.
