Snow Ghosts – And The World Was Gone – Calibre Remix

Hope your holiday was as awesome as mine.  Any day that includes lying around, stuffing my face and being with my family is fine by me.

Here’s some Calibre.  Aren’t you happy that I am here to constantly remind you of the bajillion awesome Calibre tunes that came out last year, 12 years ago, 3 months ago and so on? 😉

SpectraSoul – Hearts

myleene klass heart nail wraps

Hearts all around!  Especially to SpectraSoul because I heart them and this track.  Then to my homie Judy cuz I heart her and she deserves props for getting her nail game back on track… no more chipped nail varnish JuJu.  Also hearts to this awesome pic because I heart getting my nails done and these nails look dope.

Kove – Night Thought

I had so much fun at the dnb night here in Madison on Friday.  I even got the urge to dance and that really doesn’t happen that much these days.  I’m perfectly content sitting down, grabbing a drink, yakking with my friends and bobbing my head, getting lost in the bass.

The other day somebody asked why I am always talking about how ancient I am.  I looked at some of my other posts and it does seem like I’m constantly harping about being an old lady blah blah blah.  I know I’m not that geriatric.  I just turned 37 this year and I think that since I’ve been listening to jungle/dnb since I was 15, I’m starting to have more of a frame of reference on how much is different now from back then and that makes me feel old.  I don’t feel bad about it or anything, I just think I notice it way more now than I used to and since I am a chatterbox, I find the need to constantly yap on about it. 🙂

I think Oddsoul played this one on saturday.  I had bought it off Beatport last month and then just forgot about it. *shrugs* I do that a lot since I’m absent minded and also am too lazy to change the songs on my ipod.

Stunna Greenroom DnB

Yesterday I tuned into Stunna’s Greenroom show and heard so many goodies!  He had a spotlight special on Bank, who I really am not too familiar with, but now am definitely a fan.  I’ll post the link to the mix once Stunna posts it.

I always like listening to his show because I’m introduced to such a variety of new artists and tunes.  You should totally check it out if you don’t already.  Wednesdays 2pm to 5pm CDT / 8pm – 11pm GMT.  You probably already do listen but as I’ve said before I’m totally an old lady now about dnb.  The only reason I even know to tune in to Stunna is because he’s a good friend of mine.  I’ve reached a point where I have no clue what goes on in mainstream dnb land anymore.  LOL.  It’s not a bad thing.  I enjoy my life now but there is definitely a drastic difference between ravin non-stop like I did in my 20s and mixing out regularly, to the low-key,  mixing in my mum’s basement, scouring the internet for mixes, ipod head-bobbing, globe-trotting ESL teacher I have become. 😉

Anyways back to tuneage.  I’m all about Greyscale these days.  Totally my vibe.  Liquidy? Check. R&B samples? check?  What more do I need?

Love this collab with Spillage.

The DuoScience remix is dope too.

Steo

I’ll admit it, you don’t have to try that hard to make me love a track that has a lady vocal and is liquidy.  Dude vocal… maybe you have to try a little harder.  I actually don’t know if there’s a lot of male vocalists that I can list off the top of my head that I want to hear on a dnb track.  Steo though, I’m down for sure.  His voice is dope.  It’s late and I’m up and wide awake for no reason, so I’ve created a little Steo playlist that is keeping me company.

Foul Play & Submorphics

After 5 and a half years of doing this, it’s obvious that if I reference old tracks, there are bound to be some repeats.  Also since I have admitted that I am an old lady stuck in my ways, my fave tunes tend not to change.  LOL.   I’ve been telling my buddy Submorphics that his Make It Happen is still one of my goto fave tunes for the past 8 years.  That’s 8 years of listening to the same track over and over again. *shrugs*  Doesn’t bother me.  I love that I still have the same love for tunes a bajillion years later.  That being said,   I posted this tune when I first started my blog and I’m posting it again cuz it’s awesome and I listened it to this morning as I got ready and I will keep posting it cuz it’s a classic.
