17 Years of DnB and Kiki. 🥳

I was recently telling a colleague about my Livejournal. Yikes! 🤣
I started blogging in 2001. I joined Livejournal and just yapped endlessly about everything.
I finally got so sick of myself and my cringy early 20s behaviour, that I ended that blog and created this one. At first I decided I wasn’t going to talk about myself and just post my fave mixes and tunes, but eventually, cuz I’m such a blabbermouth, parts of my life started to creep into my posts.
I still don’t update as much as I would like, but I have decided that I do like the fact that this platform exists for me after all these years. 💜

It’s my bday on Thursday. 48. I don’t even care about the age itself, I’m just shocked that it seems to have gone by so fast!

Alix Perez on Friday. I’m excited for the show. Should be a good one.

I don’t have a mix to post. I’ve been listening to a lot of oldies. Like old oldies. I was mixing early ’90s era jungle yesterday and all those tracks had me thinking about being a young raver and how geeked I always was to go stand in front of the speaker at the weekend.

It’s my birthday today. 46.

I didn’t have to work today, so that’s nice.

It’s the small things that make me feel sad. I always looked forward to my dad’s bday calls. He was always so excited for me. 💟

These in-between birthdays aren’t that eventful. When I hit 50, then I’ll woop it up.

I’m going out for a nice meal with two of my friends tonight. Good company and a piece of cake is enough for me these days. 🥰

Currently listening to some En:vy and Particle.

And just like that, another year goes by.

Chin Chin to 14 years! This is a blog I try to delete regularly, but it continues to be a much needed gift of catharsis for my poor addled brain.

I went to bed at 8:15 pm on a Friday night. Looks like AARP will have a new member sooner than later. 😂

Now it’s 3:12 am and I’m up and wide awake, doing my homework and listening to tunes.

I already listened to the new Zero T album and now I’ve moved on to a little Artificial Intelligence.

Fingers crossed I fall back asleep easily.

It’s my birthday today. I’m 45.

I’ve never been a person that cared about getting older, and I still don’t. But, 45 does sound old as hell. 😂

I’m missing my dad today. His birthday calls were always so sweet. 💜

I love those days when Spotify just gets you. I’ve been learning how to use Storyline to create learning objects, and you know how learning any program goes; I spent like 5 hours zoning out to dnb and trying my damndest to get all my triggers, layers, hotspots etc to work. The radio station based of my playlist was straight 🔥🔥🔥. Heard a bunch of “new to me” tunes.

I know nothing about Italian dnb. This is my first timing hearing these guys and I loved the whole EP.

I know who In:Most is, but didn’t really start listening to their stuff until last year. Found this old tune from 2017 and I’m loving it.

I also know of Athena. Hadn’t heard this track before though. It came out earlier this year. Such a pretty tune.

It’s my dad’s birthday today. He would have been 91. Happy Birthday Daddy. 🥳

I’ve been busy this past week. I was feeling really down with my dad’s looming birthday and had been trying to keep myself active so I wouldn’t be crying every day. I don’t have any issues with crying, I just didn’t feel like being sad all week though, so I decided to do other shit instead.

I mean it’s not all bad, I have gotten a lot of stuff done which is good, since we know how much I love to procrastinate. The only problem is depression room (I love how I just keep pretending this is an actual phrase. I mean, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about so whatevs) has set in and I’m going to have to clean it today.

An upside to depression room is when its over I just zone out to dnb and end up with a spic and span room that satisfies all my OCD needs.

It was my bday on Saturday. I have a pretty decent sized patio at my house and it’s come in pretty handy during quarantine as I’ve been able to have socially distanced hangs with a few friends. I had 3 friends over and we just sat outside and enjoyed numerious bottles of champagne and rosé and bougie snacks. I quite enjoyed the day! 🥰

It’s a holiday today. I’m just putt putting around getting house shit done and enjoying this Hybrid Minds Essential Mix.
