Hmmm. I’ve definitely been quite easy going about my employment. I do apply for jobs everyday but I’ve also sort of been working for my friend and I had a severance package so I wasn’t that desperate. The work for my friend is dwindling now and my severance package has pretty much run out. I have to get my ass in gear. Fortunately I’m still not depressed. I am a person that believes everything happens for a reason. The only reason I’m writing about it today is because my mum suggested maybe coming home… gasp. And I’m actually thinking about it… gasp squared. I wouldn’t give up my flat or anything. I would just be making some money in Madison until I got myself back on my feet. My unemployment money covers my rent so that would be taken care of. I said I’m thinking about it. I’m still not really sold. I dislike Madison immensely. I find it stifling and boring as fuck. I’m just babbling about it cuz my mum brought it up this morning. We’ll see.

I need to buy some new tunes. LOL. I know I don’t have any money but there’s a whole new wave of dnb that I would like to add to my collection so I need to hussle a little more and get some spending money. I’m usually pretty content with my selection. I hadn’t really heard any tracks that I thought I would die if I didn’t own so I was ok with being poor and not being able to afford new stuff. The mixes I have been listening to lately have definitely changed my mind though so I guess we’ll have to add “Operation New Tunes” to my list too.

I’ve got 2 back to back trips lined up in the next 2 weeks and I’m super excited about them.  The first one, I’m going to California with my mum for my cousin’s graduation.  My aunt lives in Oxnard but I’m going early and stopping in L.A. to go kick it with some buddies for a bit and then go meet up with the fam.  Friends and family?  You know that’s my great combo.  The following week is my best friend’s wedding reception in Minneapolis.  Talk about extended wedding right?  His wife keeps joking that everyone is going to be so sick of their nuptials by the time the reception rolls around.  I’m just glad I get to go hang out with my besties again.  So basically June is looking pretty awesome and lets face it, any time you don’t have to work for an extended period of time but are still getting paid is pretty dope.

I’m really not feeling well.  I’m not really one to medicate every ailment but yesterday I was not in the mood to feel like crap so I took some.  It made me feel shitty all day and I went home straight after work and went to bed.  Today we are at round 2 and I still feel horrid but will have to grin and bear it cuz I refuse to take medicine. 😦  Whine, whine, whine.  Bah, you have to get a good whinge in every once in a while right?

Apparently Smart Bar with Goldie headlining was the place to be in Chitown last night.  I went to go see my buddy  Submorphics and he killed it.  Like seriously.  I even danced… yes I actually did.  Some wicked sounds.  The place was packed, people dancing etc.  I didn’t stay for Goldie. I’m not down to be up until the wee hours of the morning when I have to work the next day…  remember what happened last time! Plus I’ve seen him so many times so I didn’t mind dipping out early.  Is 1:00 a.m. early?? Anyways, I haven’t been to a dnb show at a club like that in a while.  Good times.

I am actually relieved friday is here.  Unlike the past couple of weeks I feel like this one has gone by exceptionally slowly.

I’m sure you are anxiously awaiting to hear how the rescue mission of my car went yesterday. Trust me it wasn’t pretty. 35 Minutes of digging and begging my car to just jump over the ice mounds surrounding it. I was covered in snow and freezing but I did it… and then it snowed last night and is still snowing right now and temperatures dropped. Nice. As I walked by my car this morning on the way to the train and saw it covered once again in mounds of snow, all I could say is “You Suck!” to the snowflakes and go on my merry way. Boo.

I am promising that this will be my last post about the snow… for now. LOL.

I’m still impatient as far as waiting for tracks to come out, but thank god they take a lot less time than they used to. I waited for this record for 2 years. Bryan G played in Minneapolis this one time and played the most amazing set. I couldnt rememember most of it but I remember when he played this track I knew I wouldn’t forget it. If you know me, you know that I am a horrible track identifier. I always get names wrong, I can’t mimic the sounds for shit. They usually only sound normal to me if I sing them. You get the picture. I asked Bryan about it and fortunately he knew what I was talking about cuz he said that LK was such a big tune that everyone always asked about it. And then I just basically waited for it to come out, and waited, and waited, and waited. A year later I came across a Hospital mix that had it on there and I just played that mix over and over and over. Finally when it came out on vinyl I was just happy to own it but of course barely played it cuz I was sick of hearing it by then. 😉 Summer anthem for sure. Loves it.
