It may sound strange but I think about Whitney Houston alot. LOL. I’ve always loved her. My fave song of hers is How Will I Know. That song is on my gym mix so I pretty much listen to it every day and therefore end up thinking about how sad it is that she’s not alive anymore. She may have had her drug problems but I just loved her music and she is definitely missed.
I love the track Black. Not only because it samples Whitney but also because it was one of the first dnb songs I heard back in ’93. It pretty much changed my life cuz I haven’t stopped listened to jungle/dnb since then. I was so obsessed with Dj SS back then!
I like doing a Formation Colours series mix every now and again and I just did one this morning so I’ve got Black on the brain. ❤

Too Much Alix Is Never Enough
I remember when I first became obsessed with Alix Perez. It was this collab that he did with Specific called Lovebug back in like 2004 or 2005 I think. I was starting to ween away from my angry noisy dnb phase and full on becoming obsessed with liquidy, melodic goodness, also anyone who is gonna sample Jodeci is #1 in my book. 😉
I still appreciate all the other dnb genres but I think that liquid funk is the soundtrack to my soul… dramatic much? LOL. Really though, it never ceases to brighten up my day. Hearts all around.

Summer Anthem Kiki
I’ve been spending a lot of time mixing records in my mum’s basement. The other day I spent like 5 hours just mixing summer anthems of yesteryear. 🙂
I am an old lady now and don’t keep up as much with what would be considered the anthems of the summer but for me this year it was definitely the Calibre track “Running.” It was the soundtrack to my summer in Indonesia and as the summer draws to a close it still evokes lovely images of sunny beaches, multicoloured cocktails and beautiful blue skies. ❤

That’s how you say goodbye in Indonesian. My Chicago days are ending. 8 more days and I blow this popsicle stand. I’m both excited and sad. I love Chicago to pieces. I’ve enjoyed every minute of the past 11 years that I have lived here.
I’m going to Indonesia to teach for the summer. I have never been to Indonesia before and I’m really looking forward to it. I plan on starting a tumblr when I get there.
I honestly don’t know what to do with this blog. I think it’s definitely time to hang up my hat. I still look for dnb mixes and tracks every day but I guess my adult life has gotten in the way and I don’t have time to blog about it and share my internet dnb traipsing with you anymore. It’s something I do really quickly before I leave the house so I can have something to listen to on my ipod at the gym or something to listen to as I do my homework. Deleting seems so final though and that’s why I’m hesitant.
On another note, today is my blog’s bday. 🙂

Hi. Countdown to Bye Bye Chicago has officially began. I’ve got 8 weeks to finish my thesis, somehow pass my last 3 classes, and not die of sleep deprivation. I see no one unless you work at my job.
