Had a lovely time at SnB. I love that it’s just a great hols with dnb sprinkled all over. I got to hang with my girl Alley Cat, have some great meals, jaunt around Sardinia, and enjoy heaps of really enjoyable dnb sets. Perfect holiday imo. 🥰

Blog is under maintenance. 
Please excuse the haphazardness of the menu and the overall look. 😩

DnB & Kiki is a WordPress blog. I have another domain on my account as well. 
It’s just my name. My work portfolio is on Wix and I don’t want to pay to connect the domain there, so this morning I started rebuilding my work portfolio on WordPress. 
We built our portfolios for an assignment during my master’s and I didn’t have the time to sort out how to do it on WordPress, so I just chose Wix. Wix is quick and easy.

I wasn’t paying attention and clicked DnB & Kiki when I was choosing my theme for the work portfolio, changing DnB & Kiki’s theme instead. 😭😭😭

I think the last time I changed the theme was when I lived in Japan,,, 10 years ago. I couldn’t remember the name of it to change it back.
The only way to get it is to ask WordPress, I talked to their customer care and they said they could revert the site back, but I don’t have a premium account, so technical support isn’t included? They wanted me to pay $149. Um what? I just said no thanks and closed the chat box.

The theme name randomly popped in my head a couple of hours later. But, now I have to go back and customize it and add all the widgets again. *sigh* 
I know, I know, champagne problems,
I just don’t feel like doing it at the moment, so just tolerate it for now.

I’m listening to some Craggz & Parallel Forces and sulking.

Somehow September managed to sneak its way on in.  I’m excited it’s here cuz I’m ready for fall but I just can’t believe how fast August went!

I went to my old university today to go see my two fave professors about writing me recommendations for the masters programs I’m applying to.  I don’t want to sound all sappy, but sometimes teachers really can make a difference.  When I went back to school the second time around, I really wouldn’t have flourished as I did if it wasn’t for Ms. Olson and Dr. List.  Props to all those teachers out there who make a difference in some people’s lives.  They are both really wonderful people. ❤

Back To The Grind

I actually had a really jam packed weekend.

Friday night I just hung out with Joy and we ate food and watched tv.  Nice and chill.

Saturday I was an overachiever.  It was absolutely gorgeous and in the 70s so I think I must have felt motivated.  I did loads and loads of laundry, went running, made a cake,  donated a bunch of old clothes and stuff to the church next door to my house, hung out with Reisha and made a fancy pants lunch and drank margaritas, mixed records for like hours upon hours, hung out with Rocko and then djed with Dan at his night at Old Oak Tap later on in the night.  Told ya I was an overachiever.

Sunday was rainy rainy rainy but I still managed to have a nice time going to breakfast with Amy and Jessica, then cozying up on the couch and watch a ridiculous amount of tv, then around 4ish went for tea and desserts with Melissa and then went to Reggie’s surprise bday party later that night.

All in all you would have thought I was actually an interesting fun person this weekend, instead of my usually boring boring boring old cow self. 😉  Good times.

Good Friday

I guess it’s good friday.  Good friday in the sense that it’s the weekend and I’m going to go spend Easter with my mum.

I’m such a heathen.  I went to Catholic school for 12 years and then decided organised religion wasn’t really for me and haven’t really paid attention to the meaning of the holidays since then.  Like I guess I celebrate them cuz everyone else does but really I’ve kinda just decided that I’m cool with my own made up spiritual beliefs.

Ooh.  Religion is such a taboo topic in a public forum.  I’ll stop now.  I was just thinking about it cuz I’m at work hella early cuz it’s Good Friday and we only have to work half day so the earlier I come in the earlier I get to leave. 😉

I’m a Dave Owen fan.  There’s a bunch more of his tracks that I love of his and have chicken scratch post it notes for but unfortunately no samples.  I like this tune, I mean it’s pretty hard to hate anything with a Biggie sample in my opinion.

Dirty Kiki

Dirty Diana is one of my favourite Michael Jackson tunes.  Lovesit.  I mean when we’re talking Michael Jackson there are loads of tunes but I love me some Dirty Diana.  I remember making up some weirdo gymnastics routine for it when I was a kid cuz I hated using the music that was usually supplied for my floor routines, so I would just create routines out of the instrumentals of tunes I liked.  I guarantee you the only people that were entertained by me rolling around on the floor and doing leap jumps to Dirty Diana were my parents.

Why are we talking about Michael?  This super cute store, Kokorokoko, just opened up like 4 doors down from my place (I live on a busy main street) and I got this red leather jacket that reminds me of Michael Jackson in Beat It.  I said reminds me, so don’t go thinking I’m gonna be rocking some white glove a la some MJ fan circa 1983.  Anyways it’s just too cute so I felt compelled to write about it. 😉

Still sick.  Boo.  My best friend is coming this weekend so this ish needs to be gone asap.
