I’ve got a midterm coming up so I’ve been reading like crazy.  The bonus to that is that I’ve just had my headphones on listening to dnb nonstop and memorizing the textbook.  Loads of really good stuff out there.  It makes me excited to download new mixes.

LSB – Rolling Sideways
I heard this track last year and had no idea what it was.  I forgot about it.  It’s been propping up again and now you can get it on Beatport.  Already bought it.  Love it.  Nice rolling tune.  Big up LSB.

Stunna & Edward Oberon – Looking Back
This one snuck up on me out of nowhere.  I’ve been really behind on tunes and since Stunna is one of my buddies, you would have thought that I would know this one already…. my bad.  I was listening to a mix and I was like, ooh what is this?  and then saw it was Stunna and Ed Oberon.  Anyways, digging it to the max.  ❤

Today’s Oldie:
Sometimes it’s hard to come up with oldies cuz I want to make sure I don’t post the same ones over and over.  Fortunately there are so many old tracks that I’ve managed not to post the same one twice.  Today’s goodie come courtesy of Lamebrane.  He posted it on his facebook which gladly gave me the freedom to not have to rack my brain of which one to pick. 🙂

It just kinda of dawned on me today that the end of the year is so close, only 8 more weeks.  This year seems to have gone by quickly yet has been awfully long at the same time.  Go figure.

I have so many new exciting changes in my life that start once 2011 begins so I’m actually quite anxious for this year to be over.

It’s Dr. Dre’s bday today. So what you say? LOL. My best friend and his friends used to do this graffiti magazine called Life Sucks Die. They would frequently have random articles, crossword puzzles etc. that discussed the awesomeness that is Dr. Dre. It was pretty funny. Seven years ago they decide they would have a party on his bday. The idea itself is pretty dope. They had The Chronic cut outs that you could put your face in and take pics, they had 40s for everyone to drink  and also did a $20 sack pyramid game show. The party became such a hit that they started doing it every year. Last year Dre actually knew about the party cuz Arabian Prince played the 2008 installment and told him about it. Now Burlesque Design decided to branch out and have Dre Day parties all over. This year they are doing one in Chicago too. I think that if you aren’t familiar with these Minneapolis dudes the idea itself seems pretty nutso but it’s awesome. I don’t mean to be a skeptic but I don’t know if the Chicago one can live up to the caliber that is the Minneapolis legacy. I’m going anyways just for the hell of it. Should be fun. Happy Bday Dr. Dre. 🙂

I was happy to come across this mp3 because it’s perfect for what’s going on outside here in Chicago. It’s raining cats and dogs! What a strange phrase. I’ve always been a big fan of the rain, as long as I’m not in it.

We all know that I listen to Bassdrive all day every day but I’ve actually never listen to Jason Magin’s Fuzed Funk show. It was a welcomed treat to my morning. I really enjoyed it.

It’s wednesday. My mum is coming this weekend. There’s kind of a lotta things going on around me that are pretty major. We’ll see how they pan out.

Ed Oberon – Kid Rio This track is out of control. I love it. I heard it in the mix on Tyler’s show and it was fire. Check it out, it’s in the player.

Kjell – Healing Process Lovin this one. Really great bassline. I feel like Kjell’s tracks have a distinct style, not quite sure how to describe it but whatever it is I like it.

Tyler Straub – Waiting For You I had actually meant to write about this track when I heard it on Bassdrive about a month ago but I really wanted to wait til I had a sample to share with you. It has this really serene melodic vibe that is just awesome. Not only do I have a sample but it’s actually available as a free download from the Santorin site. Now that is pretty cool. 🙂

Today’s Oldie – Roni Size – Watching Windows (Ed Rush & Optical Remix) – Talking Loud 1998 All my oldie favourites seem to be by the same artists. LOL. Seriously though, I do remember from about ’95 to about ’00 I could always rely on the same labels and the same artists for my tracks. They were the ones doing the best stuff and others couldn’t even really come close. This remix is ridiculously wonderful. I love the idea of a remix. I’m always curious to see what someone else would do with a track. The Ed Rush and Optical spin is just lovely. Classic track.

This mix should be fire.

Ugh.

I have numerous things to do but I’m just not doing any of them. I’m defiant as fuck… It’s nice to pretend your a bad ass for a minute. I of course will eventually do the things I’m supposed to do but for now I will procrastinate away.

It’s probably the weather that’s making me feel so blah.

Whatever, I’m in a weird mood. I’ve been tuned into Bassdrive since like 8am so I definitely have gone a little drum n bass crazy. Overfiend’s show has been awesome. You should tune in if you’re around.

I don’t feel like writing today. Boo. Yeh I’m lame but I’m sure you can do without my endless chatter for one day.

I have one piece of exciting news… Not only is BBS Bookings celebrating 1 year of their podcast but Edward Oberon did the mix. Woot woot.
