I’m so sick of starting my entries with “I’m so busy..” or “I’ve got so much homework..” so instead lets talk about how much old skool jungle I’ve consumed over the past week.

That 5 hour Rinse FM/Kool FM tribute was so lovely. I listened to the whole thing. RIP Skibz.

I also just wanted to repost some classics that I could listen to forever. They never fail to get me moving and I get just as geeked as the first time I heard them. I may be swamped with work but I’ve def been raving the whole time I’ve been doing it.

Murderapolis

If I wrote a proper post about Murderapolis (a rave in Minneapolis in ’96), this post would be long as hell.  The Formation tour came through Minneapolis and it was amazing.

It’s a holiday today and I’m putzing around my place, pretending to clean.  I’ve got Itunes on shuffle and Trace’s Mutant Revisited just came on.  DJSS opened his set with it at Murderapolis.

Definitely put a big smile on my face this a.m. 🙂

It may sound strange but I think about Whitney Houston alot.  LOL.  I’ve always loved her.  My fave song of hers is How Will I Know.  That song is on my gym mix so I pretty much listen to it every day and therefore end up thinking about how sad it is that she’s not alive anymore.  She may have had her drug problems but I just loved her music and she is definitely missed.

I love the track Black.  Not only because it samples Whitney but also because it was one of the first dnb songs I heard back in ’93.  It pretty much changed my life cuz I haven’t stopped listened to jungle/dnb since then.  I was so obsessed with Dj SS back then!

I like doing a Formation Colours series mix every now and again and I just did one this morning so I’ve got Black on the brain. ❤

I kinda got my act together just in time for the first 6 week session of summer school to be over.  Woot.  1 week break and then I start it all over again for another 6 weeks. *sigh*

One reward for being such an amazing student… cough cough, Spectrasoul gave away “In Profile” for free yesterday.  So awesome.  They reached 10,000 likes on the Facebook page and decided to bless us with a tune.  Do you know how long I’ve coveted that track?  Loved it from the first moment I heard it which was back in 2008.  Nice one boys.

Today’s Oldie:
Sound of the Future – The Lighter – Formation Records 1995
I’m having a hard time believing that I haven’t posted this one.  In the beginning, when I first started doing the oldies section, I tried not to do the obvious ones.  Now I just forget about them cuz I think I already did them.  LOL.  Thank god for the search box on my blog.  This track is one of the ones that threw me completely in.  I had already been listening to jungle for a while and just really loved the sound.  All the classics were just amazing.  Then I went to this rave one time when I was home in London and Dj SS dropped this and I just remember standing in the middle of the dancefloor just taking it all in.  The sound system was wicked and I was like, this is it.  Alas, here we are now, I’m a grown ass woman in her 30s and still brock out to dnb like I’m a 14 year old raver. ❤

I had a pretty nice weekend.  I feel like I’ve got a lot of things on my mind lately which kinda has the opposite reaction with me in that instead of babbling I tend to just stay quiet, alas I really don’t have that much to say. 🙂

Yesterday was fun.  We all went to eat at Lockdown Bar & Grill to send Submorphics off on his European excursion.  Really good burgers.  I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, which doesn’t always necessarily happen when you go out to eat.  I haven’t really seen my friends in a while so it was nice for all of us to sit and eat and kick it.

If you’re in London tomorrow go check out Submorphics at Fabric and then for all you Serbians he will be in Belgrade on October 1 and Nis on October 2.

snow-ninjaIt keeps snowing and I keep whining about it and my car continues to stay on the side street, not moved, surrounded by feet of snow. LOL. Today though, I will attack it. I will rescue my car from the snow fortress. It’s gonna take a bunch of digging and a bunch of time but I am prepared.

You can obviously tell that nothing overly exciting is happening in my life at the mo or I wouldn’t be talking to you everyday about the snow. 😉
