Going through a person’s life after they die is a trip. My dad kept everything… EVERYTHING. I found one of his report cards from 1949.

Cleaning out the house is coming along slowly. It’s definitely going to take some time. I’m here to get it done, so I have all the time to do it.

Decided not to go to the house today and do some homework.

Listening to Dreazz & Emery. It’s a track from 2015. I enjoy it cuz it uses the same Isaac Hayes sample from one of my fave Commix tunes “Hung Up.”

The Isaac Hayes original is such a vibe. Good easy listening for a cold, dreary London day. 🥰

It’s my dad’s birthday today. He would have been 91. Happy Birthday Daddy. 🥳

I’ve been busy this past week. I was feeling really down with my dad’s looming birthday and had been trying to keep myself active so I wouldn’t be crying every day. I don’t have any issues with crying, I just didn’t feel like being sad all week though, so I decided to do other shit instead.

I mean it’s not all bad, I have gotten a lot of stuff done which is good, since we know how much I love to procrastinate. The only problem is depression room (I love how I just keep pretending this is an actual phrase. I mean, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about so whatevs) has set in and I’m going to have to clean it today.

An upside to depression room is when its over I just zone out to dnb and end up with a spic and span room that satisfies all my OCD needs.

I love that feeling when a track comes on that you totally forgot about and realise how much you really enjoy it.  For me personally, Commix always hits my melancholy soft spot.  They give me this daydreamy, pensive feeling.  To this day one of my fave mixes of theirs was this 20 min mix they did on Fabio’s show ages ago of all of the tunes that didn’t make it on their Call To Mind album.  Love those dudes.

This tune came on and I totally forgot how lovely it is.  Perfect track for the dreary, wet snowy cloudy day I’ve got going on my end.

 

 

Will always love this one too.  I guess I’ll just make my day a Commix one for today. 🙂 (excuse the scantily clad beach babe.  It was the only video I found)

Hello!

School started once again.  This is my last year.  May will be here before you know it and I will have my masters!  Woot woot.  I’m excited for the next chapter of my life to begin.

There’s a lot of things going on with me these days but I actually don’t really feel like writing about it.  All good things so don’t worry.  Today I just got the urge to find the time to post some tunes I’ve been hearing and liked so let’s get on with it. 🙂

I heard this and was speechless when Danny LO told me it was a Ram record.  I honestly can’t tell you the last time I bought anything on Ram.  It’s definitely been a minute.  Quality tune.  I just picked it up the other day.

Dj Chap – Don’t Wait For Me – Liquid V
I have had an obsession with Dj Chap ever since I heard “invisible” on a Random Movement podcast.  Love his productions.

Today’s Oldie:
Chase & Status – Take Me Away – Ram Records 2008
I was curious when the last time was that I had actually bought something on Ram so I looked up their discography and voila it was this Chase and Status tune.  LOL.  A tune I was ridiculously obsessed with.  I remember sitting at my law office job tuned in to Bassdrive for hours on end and being mighty pleased every time I would hear it played.

I don’t have access to be my chicken scratch memo pad notes on what tracks I want to share cuz I’m in the computer lab at school but I did remember those two tracks for now and since I haven’t written in a bajillion years I figured this post would be a good start.  I think that I might have more time to post this semester because I’m relieving myself of the burden of having to post long entries.  I always feel guilty that I go so long without posting and always want to post really long posts to make up for it.  I’m going to make an attempt to be satisfied with just posting a track here and there or a mix whenever I get a free mo so hopefully that will get me in the habit of posting more.  We’ll see.  I promise you I really will try though!

I love SirReal mixes.  They are really good workout mixes to zone out to on the treadmill.

Chicken Party Kiki

It was my friend Ron’s bday party on saturday and he decided he wanted to have a chicken party and it was awesome.  Everyone just made different kinds of chicken wings to bring to the party and we just hung out and ate and drank.  I made teriyaki wings and some breaded wings.  It was really fun.  I have never eaten so many different types of wings in one setting.  Such a good idea for a  party.  Good times.

CC has left the building, I repeat, CC has left the building.  Man, it was really awesome to have her here.  I definitely had a fun filled jam packed crazy 5 days.  Now back to my regular, boring, serious life where I have no job and have to get one ASAP.  Boo.

Shakedown is tonight with Tyler Straub.  Can you say woot?  Beatchemist is in town and Dave Owen is supposed to be coming too.  Can you say woot squared?  I have been missing in action from my drum and bass posse for almost a month.  I feel this is the perfect opportunity to make my comeback.  Woot cubed???  Ok…. definitely taking it too far.  😉

I don’t mind the cold as much when there’s good tv to watch.  Flight of The Conchords season 2 just started and Bret, Jemaine and Murray are back to their old tricks.  Murray is definitely my favourite.  This show is hilarious.  Lovesit!

Small Bar was fun last night.  I got tired real quick though.  I feel like I’ve been running around a lot lately.  I keep saying I will just chill at the house but it doesnt actually end up happening.  I’ll work on it.  🙂
