I leave for Mexico today. I checked the forecast and it’s pretty much going to be 90 degrees the entire time we’re there. Vacay with my friends, best friend’s wedding, sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine. Nice.

I’m a little anxious about not writing in my blog. I know it’s dumb but I’m very OCD when it comes to things like that. I have consistently written in my blog 5 days a week since I started it in May and I hate looking at the calendar to the right and seeing empty spaces. I prolly shouldn’t be divulging my neurotic tendencies to you but I’ve already established that I’m kinda cuckoo so who cares. Anyways, lounging in the sun automatically trumps writing in my blog so I’m sure I’ll get over it.

I hope time cooperates and doesn’t crawl as slowly as it has been for the past couple of hours.

I was wondering the other day when it actually was that I got so soft. LOL. I didn’t always only like pretty, liquidy, melody driven tunes. I used to be super rowdy when it came to dnb, the noisier the better. Then out of the blue I became obsessed with girly dnb. Now, all you have to do is have a decent sappy vocal with a bassline that will make me want to rock back and forth and I’ll be happy. Noisy dnb makes me cringe. I am old as dirt so maybe that has something to do with it. 😉

Definitely an awesome oldie. I loved this record so much. I never actually owned it back then. I just had it on a mix that I played over and over. I finally came across the vinyl in the used bin at some record store like 4 years ago and i was ecstatic. It was only 2 bucks!

Good Times

I had a really good night last night. As I slowly make a name for myself in the geriatric community, I don’t really need much, just good music and good company. Yesterday I had exactly that. The pic is hopefully how I’m starting to look as I enter my senior citizen stages. Dashing old black lady. Dope.

Submorphics and Stunna came over and we did a little preparty and then headed to Lava. I was surprised by Lava, there were people there actually dancing and they weren’t crazy weirdos, it was just people having fun. Really nice vibe and awesome music. I danced a whole bunch. Both Whoa-B and Stunna really threw down. Stunna played a hot number from good old Will Miles that was just banging. I guess it’s a Talkbox Remix that he did. Don’t really have any other info on but just know it’s a hot one! 😉

Heard some jammers yesterday. No samples. 😦

Stunna & Amaning – Landslide (I had actually heard this tune before and meant to write on it but, surprise surprise, I forgot. LOL. I think Stunna and Amanning just make a really good team. Their collabos are always slamming.)

Yesterday Stunna started his Bassdrive show with Commix’s Hung Up. Man, what a great tune. It made me think of this Commix mix from when they were on Fabio’s show last year. It’s a mini mix of some of the tunes they chose not to put on the album and it’s seriously amazing. Just beautiful drum n bass. There’s no tracklist cuz they didn’t even really say the names of the tracks.

I work six days a week, monday thru friday at my 9 to 5 and every saturday at adidas.   When sunday gets here I try my hardest to be the laziest person ever.  Most of the time I succeed quite beautifully.  Yesterday I was in rare form.  I’m pretty sure I laid in my bed watching tv online for about 5 hours.  That’s what happens when you find a whole series online and it’s actually good and you really can’t find anything better to do with your time. 😉

I’m actually having a pretty chill day today.  It’s a lot easier to get shit done when you’re in a good mood.
