Kiki Raises The White Flag
I admit defeat. Graduate school is officially the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I still am enjoying what I’m learning but dang, there’s so much work and it really is becoming a bit overwhelming. Don’t worry I’m not gonna get all emo. I’m hanging in there. I can’t wait til this semester is over though.
Some good dnb shows come up in the Chi so that’s at least something to look forward to.
Always good to see A Sides. He never disappoints. ❤
The following week Calculon will be back throwing down at Smart Bar. Love Calculon too. Will be an awesome distraction to hang out with the dnb homies and listen to some good tunes as finals approach. If you are in town make sure to come hang out. You know there are good times to be had!

Fall Kiki
So Summer is officially over. I’m not mourning it. Autumn is my favourite time of the year. I’m back to being boring. I had a couple of weeks where I got to wild out and party to some dnb and now it’s just school and work again. I have been hearing some awesome tunes though so at least that’s keeping me going. Midterm Kiki
Studying for midterms. Grad school is good. I’m still enjoying it but dang there really aren’t enough hours in the day. I am stressed cuz I don’t ever have time for anything. Sigh. There’s a beautiful bright light at the end of this tunnel and so I will just keep trudging through. 🙂

I’m back. LA was wicked. The weather wasn’t the greatest but it was still ten thousand times better than the 30 degrees and snowing we’ve got here right now. Boo.
George’s art show was amazing. I was so happy for him. He’s so talented. It was also great to see Mollie. I say it all the time, I have wonderful friends and I’m very grateful to have them in my life.

The Longest Day
If you know me pretty well, you know I have a penchant for watching bad tv. I don’t know why. I know it’s bad. I’ll just watch it and have no qualms about it. LOL. I was an avid Dawson’s Creek watcher. There, I’ve admitted it. I had a crush on Pacey. My favourite episode was entitled “The Longest Day” and it was the episode where everyone found out that Pacey and Joey had been secretly seeing each other. The title of this post made me think of the Dawson crew.
I had a really long day yesterday. I usually think my days are long when I have to fill them up with stuff to do but actually doing stuff for long periods of time is definitely worse. I didn’t even go to the gym til 10pm. I’m rusty on the work tip obviously!

End Of Fuss Kiki
So Christmas is done. No more people fussing about, which is nice. I had a good one. I really enjoyed the time with the fam. I’m still in NJ. My sisters are gone already. Now it’s just me and mum left hovering over my nephew. He’s still too adorable. I took some pics but realised that I didn’t bring my cord to upload them so they’ll have to wait til I get back to Chi.
I’m going to Philly tomorrow and then New York on wednesday. It’s nice that both places are just an hour train ride away. I’m on a quest for more hanging out time but this time it’s with my friends. Woot. Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Sze Chuan Kiki
One thing I like about Mike being in town is we always go out for good eats. Yesterday I had the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Lao Sze Chuan in Chinatown is awesome. So many options. The menu is huge. There are things on there that I have never even heard of before. All the food was non greasy and really flavourful. I will definitely go there again.
When I was in college I used to be best friends with this Chinese girl and her parents owned a Chinese restaurant in South Dakota where she was from. I went home with her once and eating at their restaurant was wonderful. When we ate dinner they made absolutely nothing that was actually on their menu. There were all these entrees that I’d never seen and they were so full of great seasonings and yummy. I guess it’s easier to keep the Americanized versions for us and keep the good good ish for themselves. 😉
Leaving tomorrow. I will try and write while I go on my two week excursion but can’t promise that I’ll actually get to. I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday! Safe travels if you are going anywhere and just enjoy spending time with the people you care about. I plan to. 🙂

Unemployment has helped me hone my chef skills. Not only do I eat yummy dinners on a regular basis but i also bake desserts up the wazoo. I’m sure I’d make someone a good wife someday.
I made dinner with Jessica yesterday and we both commented on how happy we are that we are not college students anymore. I’m sure there are college students who eat well and make fancy dinners but I was definitely not one of them. I remember eating a lot of candy, which is kinda odd cuz I really don’t eat it that much anymore. When I say a lot I mean a daily visit to the corner shop to by not one but at least 3 different kinds, Twix, Almond Joy, Kit Kat etc and that would suffice as some sort of meal. I also ate a lot of Pasta Roni and Wendy’s. I’m not knocking any of those items. I’m just saying that after spending the time and the money to eat awesome food I am ok with not visiting that chapter of my life again. 😉
