I survived summer classes.  Woot.  It was touch and go there for a while.. 😉  There’s 3 weeks before fall semester starts and I’m relishing in that little time to enjoy my summer holidays.  Like I’ve said before, any day where I don’t have to think about whether or not I did my homework or read the numerous pages in my textbook is a lovely one.

In dnb land I’ve become a robot.  LOL.  I was reading so much and doing so much work for school that I would just have a line of mixes that I was playing to keep me sane.  I’m so glad that the days of not being able to find dnb mixes to listen to are over cuz the past couple of weeks would have been pretty rough!  Big ups all the other bloggers out there that help us dnb maniacs find mixes and tunes to download and listen to. ❤

I’m happy to report that there is a wicked dnb event tonight which coincides perfectly with the start of my summer holiday.  Yes!  Tonight I will be enjoying cocktails with my besties and listening to dnb very loudly.  If you live in Chicago, you should be doing the same.  No cover, Caculon, Stunna, Submorphics, Radiata, Midway, Dr. Groo and MC Question Mark.  Can’t really beat that folks.

Yay!  I have successfully completed my first semester of grad school.  Now I have 2 weeks off before summer session starts and I plan on thoroughly enjoying those two weeks, starting tonight.

Even though Juju tried to hate on me, I didn’t forget you.  (<3 you Juju)  I have been in World Cup mania at work.  It’s actually kind of fun but at the same time everything is a blur.  I am so excited to have today off.  I don’t get to relax or anything.  I’m basically using this day to do all the things that I haven’t gotten to do in the past week.  Did you see that Italy match yesterday?  Awesome.  Buh bye Italy!  I’m so excited to get into some more good football watching.  This weekend’s games are going to be wicked too.  Meh I sound like a nerd.  Lets move on to some dnb.

My buddy Stunna is having a show this weekend.  You can see me, Grand Marquee, Alfonz De La Mota, Midway and Place 42 play at an all dnb gig this saturday June 26.  Yes I repeat Chicago another all dnb gig.  I know these are so few and far between that we’ve forgotten what they are but I’m so excited to hang out with my friends, play some music and listen to some dnb.  I miss that so much.  If you’re in Chi please come and hang out with us.  It’s going to be lovely. 🙂

I’ve been listening to some awesome mixes at the gym and on my walks to work.  Thank god for Bassdrive.  I don’t have as much time to search for new mixes so I just download an archive and I’m good to go.  Lots of good tunes out as usual.  I’ve been hearing some pretty wicked darker/rowdier ones that I’ve been digging…  Yes you heard correctly,  Liquid Funk Kiki is digging more and more rowdy tunes. *shrugs*  What can I say, I’m not laying around my flat pondering my life as much anymore so a rowdy tune here and there while on the go definitely gets me excited.  😉

I hope I get a chance to write again soon but I can’t guarantee it.  I have a long stretch coming up with no days off again for a minute.  We’ll see.

I used to really love McDonald’s annual patty’s shamrock shakes but last year I had a really gross one and it ruined it for me.

Well, if you weren’t at Smart Bar last night, you kinda missed out. I really had a good time. Awesome music. Lots of people dancing and having fun. Even I danced a couple of times which is pretty much of unheard of lately. 😉 Fun times. It was that feeling that I want shows to have that we never seem to have anymore since we don’t seem to be recruiting new people to the scene. Last night was a good sign though so big ups Midway.

Weekend. Yay. Going to Milwaukee on saturday to hang out with my buddy Mollie. I’m excited to see her. She lives in L.A. but has to go to Milwaukee for some work thing so I’m going to drive there on saturday and kick it.

Soul Mosaic (Redeyes & Youthman) – Listen To Your Heart Love this one! It’s the 9th release on Blu Saphir. I’m just starting to know about Youthman. The French are killing it. Seriously.

Today’s Oldie:

Dj Krust – Freak Show – Full Cycle Records 2000 This track is great! It’s really easy to imagine a freak show with this bassline. Is it weird to say it’s a tasteful clownstep track? It’s totally not annoying and is really fun to mix. Whenever I play it I mostly just ride out the mix cuz it emphasizes all the elements beautifully while in the mix.

Bass Goes Boom tonight. Haven’t been for a hot minute. Should be fun to get my dubstep fix on.
