So working the World Cup at Smallbar is a blast.  Tiring but definitely a blast.  I’ve just kinda been holed up there for the past couple of days so I really haven’t had time to write.  Today is my day off and then I head back again tomorrow.  The shifts are long shifts but enjoyable.  The USA v. England game was pure insanity. Loved it.

Blackhawks Kiki

So the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup and I got pretty much no sleep last night.  I live on a busy main street and all I could hear were fireworks and people screaming all night.  Is it normal for people to let off fireworks all the time when something big happens or does that only happen in Chicago??  Anyways congrats to the Blackhawks.

World Cup time is finally here.  Starting tomorrow I will be a fixture at Smallbar Division for pretty much all the games.  If you’re in Chi, come watch a game or two and have a beer. 🙂

Still in the midst of working on grad school application stuff.  Nothing too exciting too report.

“This podkast is inspired by cinema / films / soundtracks.. I was hunting around for some samples for some of my tunes, and I came across this amazing Mashed in Plastic compilation /mashup with david lynch film and tv scores, dialogue from the films, and music. It’s amazing..I borrowed the intro which is in the podkast. Also having listened to ASC’s forthcoming album, Irrelevants tunes, and using many film samples for my own music..it really makes me think about how important music is to film and tv and vice versa. Dang it was hot yesterday.  Love it!  The midwest is so funny in that aspect.  It was 50 last week and now all of a sudden its 90.  I spent my sunday in the park with Jessica and Joia.  Good times.

Lost series finale was yesterday.  I wasn’t as pissed as everyone else seemed to be.  I liked it.  I’m a sucker for happy endings.  I don’t really care about the unanswered questions.  My life will continue just fine. 😉

I also worked my first Smallbar big football game shift this weekend.  It was the Champions League final and it was insane.  Crazy busy, a lot of drinking.  I remember I looked at the clock and it was 1230 and then when I looked again it was 445.  I didn’t even know who won.  LOL.  (Inter Milan did if you didn’t already know)  World Cup there is definitely going to be interesting.  🙂

I had a pretty awesome weekend actually.  I worked my first shift at Smallbar and that went pretty well.  I’m still not a beer expert but I’m learning slowly. 😉  Mike (4/4) was in town so we went out for drinks.  I love it when he comes to town cuz I always end up going to places that I’ve never been to before, which is great cuz as much as I love my regulars, it’s always nice to frequent new establishments.  We went to the Paramount Room and Bluebird and I will definitely visit them again.

We are finishing the work at the temp job faster than they expected, so instead of 5 weeks it’s only a week and a half of work.  I’m not too bummed about it.  My unemployment got renewed and I’ll be ok until World Cup starts.

My weekend was all about work.  I trained at Smallbar.  I think I’m gonna like working there.  It definitely helps that I already know most of the staff there anyways.

I start my 5 week temp assignment today.  This is going to cut into my blogging time dammit. 😉  I’ll still try and post though.
