Slumdog Kiki

I watched Slumdog Millionaire last night.  If you’re looking for something to watch definitely see this.  I am a big fan of that British show Skins and Anwar was one of my favourite characters so it was nice to see Dev Patel in this movie.  The little boy that played the younger version of Dev’s character was absolutely adorable.  Awesome movie.

More snow.  Boo.  I told you I bought a shovel for my car so I guess I am more or less prepared to dig my car out at all times, doesn’t mean I’m happy about it though.  😉

Uggg.  I got on the train this morning and completely forgot about the 50 cent fare hike.  Boo.  Is it possible for me to become more of a miser than I already am?  The city is getting expensive on the sneak tip.  10.25% tax is fucking ridiculous and $2.25 to get on the train?  Yikes.  Thank god my rent and my utilities are still on the low end.  Nothing like a monday morning gripe right?  😉

So I made my top 25 of 2008. I feel like it’s a bit nonsense to do this because a) I cheated and just did it from May onwards cuz that’s when I started my blog and have detailed documentation of all the tracks I liked and b) I obsess over tracks so much there’s no way I like a track that I heard in May as much as I do one I like today cuz of the whole “playing on repeat constantly” factor. I hope time cooperates and doesn’t crawl as slowly as it has been for the past couple of hours.

I was wondering the other day when it actually was that I got so soft. LOL. I didn’t always only like pretty, liquidy, melody driven tunes. I used to be super rowdy when it came to dnb, the noisier the better. Then out of the blue I became obsessed with girly dnb. Now, all you have to do is have a decent sappy vocal with a bassline that will make me want to rock back and forth and I’ll be happy. Noisy dnb makes me cringe. I am old as dirt so maybe that has something to do with it. 😉

I had a really great holiday.  Nice to see the fam.  The ceremony for my stepdad went really well.  Back at work.  Nothing really exciting to report as I have been lounging around eating copious amounts of food for the last 5 days.

Still in Madison. I’m here til sunday. We made it through xmas and now I just gotta get through the ceremony for my stepdad.  I have a huge family so events like this are always a bit chaotic.  🙂 All the relatives are making their way in. Me and my brother have been playing musical chairs as far as the airport is concerned. I was there this a.m. and he’s there now.

It’s xmas eve.  All presents are wrapped.  I’m all packed and ready to dip.  I’m at work right now.  I only have to work a half day so I came in at 7 and will be leaving at 11.  My brothers and sisters are here in Chicago.  They are just waiting for me to get off work and then we’re going to caravan to Madison.  Safe travels to everyone that’s heading home today.
