Submorphics is trekking across the pond  for the next six months so we’re having a little Chitown dnb posse going away dinner at the hot spot Wing Hoe.  I’m excited cuz I’m totally in a Wing Hoe mood and will definitely indulge in a signature scorpion drink.  Yum.

Lots of dnb goodness today in the Chi.  Sinistarr and Submorphics will be joining Stunna in the Greenroom for his Bassdrive show which will definitely be dope and the new dnb monthly Shakedown starts at Lava today so if you’re around you should tune in and stop by.

Apparently Smart Bar with Goldie headlining was the place to be in Chitown last night.  I went to go see my buddy  Submorphics and he killed it.  Like seriously.  I even danced… yes I actually did.  Some wicked sounds.  The place was packed, people dancing etc.  I didn’t stay for Goldie. I’m not down to be up until the wee hours of the morning when I have to work the next day…  remember what happened last time! Plus I’ve seen him so many times so I didn’t mind dipping out early.  Is 1:00 a.m. early?? Anyways, I haven’t been to a dnb show at a club like that in a while.  Good times.

I am actually relieved friday is here.  Unlike the past couple of weeks I feel like this one has gone by exceptionally slowly.

I’ve been recording mixes at my friend Caleb’s studio for the past 3 years.  He has a really nice studio.  I always entitle them Caleb’s Party Mix No. whatever.  I have about 25 of them.  They are listening mixes, not ones for people to jam out to.  The best advice anyone ever gave me when I was first learning to mix was to constantly record yourself just to know how you sound so it’s something I do on a regular basis.  It has helped me immensely.  Anyways as I was cleaning out my car the other day I found all of them and have been listening to them non stop.  Right now I’m immersed in dnb circa 2006.  Woot.

My roomate’s boyfriend is moving in with us this week.  I’m about to have the cheapest rent I’ve had since I was 18.  Holla.  I’m extremely excited about this because it means I’m gonna have a nice chunk of extra moolah to go towards all the trips I have planned for this year.  Now that is really exciting as far as I’m concerned.  Woot.

I’ve been listening a lot to that Furney & Tayla DnB TV mix.  It’s really good.  Check it out if you haven’t already.

I totally forgot about this one! I really used to love this record. It’s just an overall nice roller to add to your set. Sounds really nice in the mix. I remember that one of the boys in my crew had it and I used to borrow it all the time cuz I couldnt’ track down a copy. Finally a kind soul sold me his copy. Back in the late 90s it wasnt as easy as it is now to just conjure up a copy of a record. I was definitely greatful.

I cleaned out my car yesterday. Well attempted to. What a bloody nightmare! My car isn’t really messy to be honest, it’s just overridden with scratched cd after scratched cd. I decided it was time to get rid of the ones I can’t play so they aren’t just rattling around in my car. Unfortunately I’m still attached to a lot of the cds so I can’t really say that my mission was that successful.

I can’t believe it has taken me this long to put this track in my oldies section. This is seriously one of my most favourite tracks ever. I know that I love to exaggerate but I’m pretty serious when I say this. I coveted this tune for a year before it actually got released. No matter what I always get excited to hear it. I think it’s really pretty and still makes me want to dance when it comes on and I still have constant repeat sessions with it. I think it’s just a very “me” tune and that’s probably why I love it so much.

Yes I’m here.  I was so swamped at work yesterday I couldn’t even write in my blog and you know how that messes with my OCD mind.  Argggh.  My boss has a lot of cases up this month so I’m surprisingly busy.  It doesn’t bother me cuz I don’t mind the work but it definitely is a switch up cuz I usually have a pretty leisurely day balancing my work and playing online.  😉
