Been listening to some good hip hop mixes lately a la Dj Scend.  Check them out if you are so inclined.

I turned in my final paper for one of my classes on tuesday and I just have a final in my other class next week and my first semester of grad school will officially be over.  Holla. 🙂

I’m getting excited to mix at the Klute show next week.  I totally need a good dnb show to blow off the overworked semester steam.

I frequently think about how strange it is that I rave out to dnb at 5 a.m.

This morning’s gym selections were Stunna & Submorphics’ WMC mix (sorry I don’t have a link for this one) and Alegria’s Influenza mix.  I worked out to Alegria but listened to S & S in my car on the drive there.  I actually stayed in my car after I parked to listen to S & S because the mix was almost over and I wanted to hear the end, even though I’ve listened to it numerous times before.  It’s just a really good mix and I was totally in the zone.  I totally got that feeling after you would get home from a rave and it would be ass crack o clock.

I think one of my fondest memories is after one of the times I saw Andy C.  It was back in ’99.  The rave was called Mental and it was at the Roy Wilkins in St. Paul, MN.  I left the auditorium at 8 a.m. was pretty much deaf cuz the sound was insane and couldn’t have been more content to go to bed yet I was definitely on cloud nine from all the good music I had heard that night.  I’m feeling a little nostalgic this morning I guess.  😉

Might as well have another Andy C oldie right?  He’s coming to Smart Bar on the 17th.  Stunna is playing so I’ll prolly go.  To be honest though I’m more a fan of Andy C of yesteryear not necessarily of the Andy C of today. *shrugs*  This oldie is another of my faves for sure.  It was the track that I played the most on this Ram Raiders Part 3 release.  I’ve said it before, I really like the tracks that Andy C and Shimon make together.  🙂

It’s strange to have nowhere to be in the morning.  I was hanging out with Reisha the other day and on numerous occasions kept thinking that I should probably go home and then finally remembered that I could probably just not go home if I wanted and it would be fine.

CC is here until wednesday.  We’ve been busy partying.  I’ll get to the resume blasting, pavement traipsing once she’s goes.  I’m not even going to try and pretend that I can be serious about my plight with guests and fun to be had.

I totally forgot about this one! I really used to love this record. It’s just an overall nice roller to add to your set. Sounds really nice in the mix. I remember that one of the boys in my crew had it and I used to borrow it all the time cuz I couldnt’ track down a copy. Finally a kind soul sold me his copy. Back in the late 90s it wasnt as easy as it is now to just conjure up a copy of a record. I was definitely greatful.

I’ve been up for a while. The daylight savings is totally messing with me but I’m not having the same problem others are probably having. I’m just up even earlier so I just hang out for even longer in the morning than usual. Not cool.

I’m liking this Paul B. It has this nice cadence to it. Kinda like Marcus Intalex’s and ST Files’ How you Make Me Feel.

I remember I wasn’t really that into this track when it came out. It was ok but I didn’t think it was spectacular. It was another one of those tunes that dominated the tape packs. Listening to it today though I kinda like how simple it is.

Slumdog Kiki

I watched Slumdog Millionaire last night.  If you’re looking for something to watch definitely see this.  I am a big fan of that British show Skins and Anwar was one of my favourite characters so it was nice to see Dev Patel in this movie.  The little boy that played the younger version of Dev’s character was absolutely adorable.  Awesome movie.

More snow.  Boo.  I told you I bought a shovel for my car so I guess I am more or less prepared to dig my car out at all times, doesn’t mean I’m happy about it though.  😉
