The past two days have been really odd.  LOL.  The flat tire situation didn’t work out like I hoped and I ended up getting stranded at my brother’s house.  It finally got fixed last night so I guess I’ll be heading home from my south side getaway today and tend to getting a new tire.  Oh and it’ friday.  Geez, what an odd week.  I don’t have any plans for this weekend.  Like I said before I’m just on some countdown bizness til I leave for London on wednesday.  Woot. 😉

I wish I meant Fat Tire like the beer but alas I don’t.  Last night I was driving to my brother’s and  got a flat tire.  Fortunately I was close to my bro’s so I just drove on it the remaining couple of blocks.  Me and my brother braved the cold to try and change it but for some reason the tire wouldn’t come off so I got stranded.  I spent the night here and have to wait for AAA to come fix it today and then deal with going to go get a new one cuz the current one is beyond being fixed.  Boo.

I should have just gone to London the second I came back from my Christmas holiday.  This week seems a little pointless.  I can’t really do anything productive on the work front as I’m leaving next week so instead I’m back to sitting in my flat waiting to leave.  Hmmm.  Complain much?  LOL.  I’m prolly just crabby cuz it’s cold outside and I don’t have anything to do but be stuck indoors.  I’m trying to bring back my positive outlook for 2010 so I have decided to only be grumpy while I write this post and then snap out of it. 😉

I’m making an executive decision and doing my end of year top tracks today.  I’m going to Philly today and then I’m not taking my laptop with me to NY tomorrow so that really leaves me no time to write.

Here is my repeat of end of year disclaimers…

My list is always going to be kinda bogus.  LOL.  The tunes I blogged about towards the end of the year are still fresh in my mind and therefore get more attention than the ones I blogged about back in the beginning of the year cuz I’m not sick of hearing them yet.  The list is in no particular order.  I have been told that I have strange taste in some dnb track so my list means absolutely nothing.  It’s just a compilation of songs that I personally liked over 2009.  We also must take into account that the latter half of the year I wasn’t as diligent about writing tracks down due to the loss of my job so I’m not as up on new tunes as I used to be.  This list is just of tracks that I would have been happy to keep on my ipod for the past 365 days.

I mulled over my list for ages.  I started out with 70 tracks and could only cut it down to 30 this year.  LOL.  I really tried to narrow it to at least 20 but I really like all the tracks on the list, so 30 it is.  Eek.  This will be a long post. 🙂

So Christmas is done.  No more people fussing about, which is nice.  I had a good one.  I really enjoyed the time with the fam.  I’m still in NJ.  My sisters are gone already.  Now it’s just me and mum left hovering over my nephew.  He’s still too adorable.  I took some pics but realised that I didn’t bring my cord to upload them so they’ll have to wait til I get back to Chi.

I’m going to Philly tomorrow and then New York on wednesday.  It’s nice that both places are just an hour train ride away.   I’m on a quest for more hanging out time but this time it’s with my friends.  Woot.  Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Sze Chuan Kiki

One thing I like about Mike being in town is we always go out for good eats.  Yesterday I had the best Chinese food I’ve ever had.  Lao Sze Chuan in Chinatown is awesome.  So many options.  The menu is huge.  There are things on there that I have never even heard of before.  All the food was non greasy and really flavourful.  I will definitely go there again.

When I was in college I used to be best friends with this Chinese girl and her parents owned a Chinese restaurant in South Dakota where she was from.  I went home with her once and eating at their restaurant was wonderful.  When we ate dinner they made absolutely nothing that was actually on their menu.  There were all these entrees that I’d never seen and they were so full of great seasonings and yummy.  I guess it’s easier to keep the Americanized versions for us and keep the good good ish for themselves. 😉

Leaving tomorrow.  I will try and write while I go on my two week excursion but can’t promise that I’ll actually get to.  I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday!  Safe travels if you are going anywhere and just enjoy spending time with the people you care about.  I plan to. 🙂
