I had a pretty good weekend.  Everything I did turned out to be really fun and you know that doesn’t happen often so I was pleased.

Unemployment has turned me into a new version of myself.  I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing but it definitely is interesting.  I think that not having specific things to tend to all day makes a person get creative when it comes to deciding what to do to make time pass.  I attribute my 2.0 version mostly to that. 🙂

I’m getting back into the swing of things.  The jet lag is subsiding, clothes are unpacked, I picked up my car from my bros etc.  When you go away it’s like you get to live in this fantasy world for a hot minute and then it’s funny how when you get back it’s almost like that time didn’t happen because you automatically go back to your regular routine.

I’ve got some job prospects in the pipeline so keep your fingers crossed for me.  Woot.

And She’s Back!

Hi!  My globetrotting has come to an end.  I’m a bit sad about it.  I have definitely figured out again, what I already knew,  that I love travelling abroad.  I’m an international chick and just tend to thrive better when I’m overseas.  I must figure out a way to get some funds so  I can do it more often.  I can’t honestly say that I was happy to return to annoying cold weather and no job, but alas it is what it is.

I am soooo behind in my dnb world.  Shame on me.  Since I forgot the powercord to my laptop I couldn’t even update the mixes on my ipod so I don’t even know what’s out there.  I am excited to get back on track though.

Do you guys ever listen to Ros & Reza’s Soul Addiction Bassdrive show?  I’m a new listener and I love it.  Really great chill vibes.  You should check it out.  It’s on every thursday from 9 – 11 am CST.

I should have just gone to London the second I came back from my Christmas holiday.  This week seems a little pointless.  I can’t really do anything productive on the work front as I’m leaving next week so instead I’m back to sitting in my flat waiting to leave.  Hmmm.  Complain much?  LOL.  I’m prolly just crabby cuz it’s cold outside and I don’t have anything to do but be stuck indoors.  I’m trying to bring back my positive outlook for 2010 so I have decided to only be grumpy while I write this post and then snap out of it. 😉

I’m making an executive decision and doing my end of year top tracks today.  I’m going to Philly today and then I’m not taking my laptop with me to NY tomorrow so that really leaves me no time to write.

Here is my repeat of end of year disclaimers…

My list is always going to be kinda bogus.  LOL.  The tunes I blogged about towards the end of the year are still fresh in my mind and therefore get more attention than the ones I blogged about back in the beginning of the year cuz I’m not sick of hearing them yet.  The list is in no particular order.  I have been told that I have strange taste in some dnb track so my list means absolutely nothing.  It’s just a compilation of songs that I personally liked over 2009.  We also must take into account that the latter half of the year I wasn’t as diligent about writing tracks down due to the loss of my job so I’m not as up on new tunes as I used to be.  This list is just of tracks that I would have been happy to keep on my ipod for the past 365 days.

So Christmas is done.  No more people fussing about, which is nice.  I had a good one.  I really enjoyed the time with the fam.  I’m still in NJ.  My sisters are gone already.  Now it’s just me and mum left hovering over my nephew.  He’s still too adorable.  I took some pics but realised that I didn’t bring my cord to upload them so they’ll have to wait til I get back to Chi.

I’m going to Philly tomorrow and then New York on wednesday.  It’s nice that both places are just an hour train ride away.   I’m on a quest for more hanging out time but this time it’s with my friends.  Woot.  Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Sze Chuan Kiki

One thing I like about Mike being in town is we always go out for good eats.  Yesterday I had the best Chinese food I’ve ever had.  Lao Sze Chuan in Chinatown is awesome.  So many options.  The menu is huge.  There are things on there that I have never even heard of before.  All the food was non greasy and really flavourful.  I will definitely go there again.

When I was in college I used to be best friends with this Chinese girl and her parents owned a Chinese restaurant in South Dakota where she was from.  I went home with her once and eating at their restaurant was wonderful.  When we ate dinner they made absolutely nothing that was actually on their menu.  There were all these entrees that I’d never seen and they were so full of great seasonings and yummy.  I guess it’s easier to keep the Americanized versions for us and keep the good good ish for themselves. 😉

Leaving tomorrow.  I will try and write while I go on my two week excursion but can’t promise that I’ll actually get to.  I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday!  Safe travels if you are going anywhere and just enjoy spending time with the people you care about.  I plan to. 🙂
