I heard this on Sinistarr’s mix for BBS Bookings.  I haven’t really been listening to many Skitty tunes since Rickets, which is amazing, but this one is dope even if it is from April of last year.  I listen to a lot of dnb but I still definitely sleep on a lot of good tunes.

Brooklyn – Someone (Naibu Remix)
(track is in Brooklyn player) We all know I’m quite obsessed with Naibu.  Love him!  Dan Marshall played it last week on his Bassdrive show and I was for sure dancing in my chair.

So yeah I promised not to talk about the snow but I am going to talk about the fact that it’s -7 degrees right now and the high today is -1… um what? You walk outside and you’re like “Oh it’s not that cold,” but then when you have to stand still you’re like “Oh shit.” LOL. Me and Stunna and Submorphics were talking about Dj Die last night so I decided to do another oldie by him. Dj Die’s back catalogue is ridiculous. I could just keep picking oldies by him and be content. So many awesome tracks. Funnily enough, I’m actually not that crazy about Special Treat but I do remember how huge it was. A lot of people have been throwing it in their sets lately. It’s a nice nostalgic revival. I don’t hate it, it’s just not really wanna of my faves but a classic oldie nonetheless. 🙂

I’m sure you are anxiously awaiting to hear how the rescue mission of my car went yesterday. Trust me it wasn’t pretty. 35 Minutes of digging and begging my car to just jump over the ice mounds surrounding it. I was covered in snow and freezing but I did it… and then it snowed last night and is still snowing right now and temperatures dropped. Nice. As I walked by my car this morning on the way to the train and saw it covered once again in mounds of snow, all I could say is “You Suck!” to the snowflakes and go on my merry way. Boo.

I am promising that this will be my last post about the snow… for now. LOL.

I’m still impatient as far as waiting for tracks to come out, but thank god they take a lot less time than they used to. I waited for this record for 2 years. Bryan G played in Minneapolis this one time and played the most amazing set. I couldnt rememember most of it but I remember when he played this track I knew I wouldn’t forget it. If you know me, you know that I am a horrible track identifier. I always get names wrong, I can’t mimic the sounds for shit. They usually only sound normal to me if I sing them. You get the picture. I asked Bryan about it and fortunately he knew what I was talking about cuz he said that LK was such a big tune that everyone always asked about it. And then I just basically waited for it to come out, and waited, and waited, and waited. A year later I came across a Hospital mix that had it on there and I just played that mix over and over and over. Finally when it came out on vinyl I was just happy to own it but of course barely played it cuz I was sick of hearing it by then. 😉 Summer anthem for sure. Loves it.

snow-ninjaIt keeps snowing and I keep whining about it and my car continues to stay on the side street, not moved, surrounded by feet of snow. LOL. Today though, I will attack it. I will rescue my car from the snow fortress. It’s gonna take a bunch of digging and a bunch of time but I am prepared.

You can obviously tell that nothing overly exciting is happening in my life at the mo or I wouldn’t be talking to you everyday about the snow. 😉

I don’t like this track stand alone. I do love it in the mix though. It’s fun to play with. Formation country series… sigh, it’s very strange to think how obsessed with Formation I was seeing as I don’t think I’ve bought a Formation record in like 6 or 7 years. There are a lot of old awesome classics on that label though. Nice.

I watched Slumdog Millionaire last night.  If you’re looking for something to watch definitely see this.  I am a big fan of that British show Skins and Anwar was one of my favourite characters so it was nice to see Dev Patel in this movie.  The little boy that played the younger version of Dev’s character was absolutely adorable.  Awesome movie.

More snow.  Boo.  I told you I bought a shovel for my car so I guess I am more or less prepared to dig my car out at all times, doesn’t mean I’m happy about it though.  😉

Uggg.  I got on the train this morning and completely forgot about the 50 cent fare hike.  Boo.  Is it possible for me to become more of a miser than I already am?  The city is getting expensive on the sneak tip.  10.25% tax is fucking ridiculous and $2.25 to get on the train?  Yikes.  Thank god my rent and my utilities are still on the low end.  Nothing like a monday morning gripe right?  😉
