Dummyhead

It’s funny when you know you’ve got shit to do but you just don’t feel like doing it. ;)   I’m up trying to do my last minute shit because instead of doing it last night I opted to go to sleep.  Now I’ve got mountains of shit to do before I leave for the airport and what am I doing instead?  Oh just blogging.  No biggie.  LOL.

Lenzman is one busy dude.  I like the Electrosoul System too but I like the Lenzman way better.

Ants In My Pants

Knowing that I don’t have to work tomorrow is so exciting.  Finally my much talked about mini holiday is here and I can’t wait.  I’ve been antsy all day cuz the clock is just moving too bloody slowly.

Can we talk for a second about how awesome Tyler Straub is?  He really is quite the musical genius.  Stunna played Waiting For You yesterday.  Love it!  It’s not in the player but you should really listen to his stuff.  So good.  Take a peak. :)

Didn’t get to listen to all of DFunk’s show today but I did catch a little bit.  He played a nice Komatic tune that I was digging called Untold Stories.  Nice.

Today actually hasn’t been as boring as it could be.  I’m just anxious for the day to be done.  I’m gonna try and post tomorrow before I head out of town.

Ennui

The boredom continues. That pic above is pretty much what I look like at my desk. I’m just going to write blog titles that say boredom in different languages until it stops. LOL.

I really shouldn’t complain. I’m getting paid to listen to dnb radio for 8 hours and tool around.

Carl Matthes & Bionic 1 – Let It Go: I really wish I had a sample of this for you. I’m gonna have to say it’s definitely my favourite tune right now. I’ve checked both of their myspaces and they haven’t posted it yet. Amazing tune. I actually heard it last week but I must have lost my scrawled tattered post it note that I had it written on cuz I didn’t write about it… unless I did and forgot, which I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if that was the case, you know how I am.

Naibu – Opium Lady: Oh Naibu, mon petit chou-fleur. He is just awesome. I love his stuff. This particular one isn’t in the player but there’s some other really great tunes in there too.

Dave Owen – A Little Of This: I’m really liking this dude’s style. Good track. (Sorry no sample)

B-complex – Ocean Deep: I’ve just recently been turned on to B-complex. I dig his stuff. Still loving Reflections too. (Both tracks are in the player)

Boooooooring

Day 4 of boredom.  There’s really no in between with my job, either I’m swamped or I’ve got fuck all to do.  Right now it’s the latter.  I’ve become quite adept at trying to amuse myself but man, 8 hours is a long time to go with nothing to do.  I’ve been listening to random old jams… not necessarily dnb.  Remember this one?  Paperboy – Ditty.  Hot stuff. :)

I keep repeating myself but damn am I in need of a mini holiday.  I am so unmotivated it’s ridiculous.  My roommate went home to go kick it with the fam so my apartment is totally out of control because I seem to be using her absence to relive my days as a messy 19 year old.  Whatever.

My Adidas

Ugggggh. All of us at the Adidas Originals store hate that Run DMC track now. LOL. We have djs every weekend at the store and all of them think it’s cool to play that track, which it kinda is, but after hearing it every weeknd for numerous years we all hate it. They all seem to do the same beat juggle sequence with it, so the second any of us hear “MY Aaaa,” we immediately groan.

l am happy to report that I officially do not work at Adidas Originals anymore. My last day was saturday and it was quite bittersweet. I actually quit there last year but couldn’t find a job and really didn’t want to go back there full time so my manager was nice enough to let me stay on one day a week so I at least was making some money and still left me open to go on interviews and what not. Once I actually did get a job I didn’t mind the whole working six days a week thing so I just stayed on. I’m glad to officially be done with retail though. It’s a good feeling to know that I won’t ever being running around trying to find sizes of clothes or shoes for anyone again… unless they are my child I guess. Yay.

I would love to tell you that I spent the weekend listening to all those mixes that I told you I had downloaded the other day and that I have a bunch of new fave tracks to tell you about, but that would be a lie as I actually spent the whole weekend listening to the Specific spotlight mix on repeat. Soooo goood.

Been hearing a lot of Apex stuff that I like lately.

I’m really looking forward to my friend Sam’s wedding this weekend. I’ve been itching to get out of town. I just want to go away and hang out and be silly and not worry about anything which is exactly what I plan on doing this weekend. Oh and also I found a dress which is a huge annoying weight off my shoulders. ;)

Wobble Wobble Wobble

The tracks that Distance was playing yesterday were pretty insane. Dubstep on a loud sound system is just crazy. I feel like I totally had my bass screwface on the whole time the wobble bass was in effect. It was just sick. :) He didn’t go on til one though and I left at 2. So I enjoyed a good hour of the dubstep attack. I can’t stay out late when I have to be at work in the morning. I cherish the little sleep that I do get.

My boss isn’t here yet and I really don’t have anything to do so I’m kinda just twiddling my thumbs listening to Spinn on Bassdrive.

I feel like I’ve gotten a lot of really good mixes over the past couple of day so I’m kinda looking forward to listening to them this weekend.

Some of the mixes I have been listening to at work have been throwing in old jams which are so great to hear. I wanna do an old skool mix but the organization of my records is pretty crap as I had made the transition from crates to a lovely record shelf and didn’t keep order as I did that. Now that I’m going to have two lovely days off a week, wanting to make this mix might give me the incentive to put some order to my vinyl… I said might. ;)

I can’t believe I’m actually admitting this but I really like that Noisia track – Diplodocus. (track is in the player) Yikes. I generally dislike most Noisa stuff. It’s just not really my cup of tea. Diplodocus makes me wanna rave out though. I feel like it’s a total party tune.

I heard this track this morning but I don’t really have that much info on it. Boo. I just remember it was really pretty and I can’t seem to find any info on the artist. Boo squared.

Don’t Hang Up The Phone!!

I can’t remember if I wrote about this already or not but my phone has been fucked for like the past week. At first I was really into the silence but now it’s kinda lonely. I can make calls but not receive them or receive texts BUT if I’m on the phone then it works. How ridiculous is that? I can’t just stay on the phone forever.

Going to the Distance show tonight. Woot woot. I’m excited to hear good music. Should be fun.

Hunting for a dress for this wedding I’m going to next week is getting on my nerves. I know exactly what I want but I can’t seem to find it. That’s why it would be cool to be a designer cuz you would just make what you want and not have to worry about endless annoying shopping trips searching for something that resembles what you would like.

Man, that spotlight mix of Specific on Bassdrive yesterday was awesome. Definitely into that dude’s tunes. I’m the worst trainspotter ever. I always miss track ids and constantly ask for them to be repeated and usually still end up getting them wrong. My favourite track on the mix yesterday was called Something New. I’m pretty sure it was by Specific and I’m pretty sure that was the title, but like I just said, I’m not the best at paying attention so I could be wholeheartedly wrong.

The Arbitrators are on holiday this week so I guess there’s not much going on in the Workers’ Compensation Law world which means I’m doing menial mundane tasks around the office. It always seems like fun to have nothing to do but it’s really only fun for a couple of hours and then you just get bored of being bored.

Error… Does Not Compute

I’ve got a lot of stuff going on this week. I feel a bit discombobulated. Sort of like in the old sci-fi films when a computer or a robot would get fried or whatever and it would go all crazy and be like “error, system error, does not compute.” I’m showing my age. ;)

You know how it is when you’ve got stuff lined up and you just have to cross it off your list one by one and the list seems never ending.

One of my really good friends is getting married next week and I’m going to Minneapolis for the wedding but it’s like a labor day getaway as well cuz it’s at a lodge and I’ll be gone for 4 days. Im trying to get my finances sorted for that, as well as buy a dress and wedding gift and coordinate seeing my few friends that I want to see before we head to Duluth and then one of my relatives from England is in town but is staying out way south so I have to squeeze that in to my agenda and work it around my daily schedule. Also there’s my impending last shift at Adidas this saturday. You get the picture. It’s a bit overwhelming when your brain becomes chocablock. *shrugs* I’m sure it’ll sort itself out.

Actually found some good music while not doing my work and looking for records.

Man. I absolutely love this one. Really lovely deep track.

Tech Tech Tech….Techno

Adam F – Circles

Did you know there was a fancy pants video for this? LOL. This was my first time seeing it.

Everytime I’m thinking of a title for my entry I just let my brain go wild. I was thinking about how much techno I listened to this weekend and then I was like “tech tech tech” and it made me think of Circles. Whenever I break down my thoughts like that, I find it easier and easier to admit that I am indeed crazy. ;)

My friend Mike was in town and so I ventured to one of the techno nights to listen to Atomly and Sassmouth. Great music, awesome djs. I actually am quite the techno fan but don’t really have anyone to gimme the lowdown on the new ish like I used to have back in Minneapolis. So basically whenever I get to indulge in some good techno I’m quite content.

I was completely spoiled by Stunna this weekend cuz he gave me some of the tracks I nag him about and some good mixes. I basically spent sunday cleaning my house and listening to my fave tracks and a six hour long bassdrive mix that Stunna had done a couple of weeks back. I’m three hours in, we’ll have to save the rest for when I decide to clean my bedroom. ;)

No new tracks to talk about today because I am feeling awfully lazy, but I am happy to listen to the new BBS Bookings podcast.

Pretty slow day.
